I run cast hollows on that generic shape a lot, 5.6. Still feels stable cuz of Venture. I've had both 5.8 and 6.1 on my transition setup and the difference is minimal but I actually prefer the narrower truck of both options on each.

Ok

i’ve been in 5.6 v-lights that the pal hooked up for me.
bought some titanium 5.6s for no good reason. they are…..1 ounce lighter. i am an idiot.

i like 5.6s tho. i’ve been pretty unmad lately. 5.6s on an 8.25. boooooooooring. no real desire to mess with it tho.

1 ounce  = 28 grams.. which is roughly the typical weight reduction between the ti's & lights, no? Why didn't you just Google the weight difference?

Just curious what's the biggest wheel people are running on casts without risers? 56mm classics worked well for me. Decided to try 58mm conical fulls and am getting mad wheel bite. Would a rounder edge shape like a radial or classic in the same size be less prone to wheel bite or do I just need to get risers?

Best branding in the truck game is like being the best c+ student. The competition of "fuck the rest" and "know control" is theoretically impossible not to beat, but somehow no one else does.

I've found 56mm to be the biggest I can go without risers too. I use 1/12" risers for my 58mms and that works like a charm.

Tons of local kids ride 56-58 radial full, conical full, etc style wheels with zero risers. A bunch of them use a Bones hard top.

I'm running 58s but im really light now. I almost can't get wheel bite unless it's really hot out and I'm skating like taller ledges with the pop out.

I tend to wheel bite at the ledge too cuz I skate a banana ledge.

So I got some 5.8s from a dear friend. They came w thunder bushings in them , which must go. I'd prefer to have looser trucks with a flush nut. So my question is which bushings have a smaller top aside from ace lows? I've had bones in other trucks, but I normally run all top bushings whenever I go w bones so idk if that top bushing is actually lower ? Plz advise

Slappy bushings are a perfect fit for Ventures (an the top bushing compresses down nicely and it's already shorter than venture stock) and not that the stocks are bad, but the slappy bushings are a step up in rebound (they also don't get chomped to shit in vents).

Venture loose truck kit (good luck finding one)

Bones is the same height as stock (hard compress more than the mediums)

might be a silly question, do you keep the venture washers or swap the slappy ones in?

Thank you Xen that's exactly the answer I was looking for. Gonna avoid the bones this time around and try to locate the green boys. Really don't wanna have to hand tighten these.

It saddens me that I cannot ride any truck even remotely close to stock. Then again I've never tried the new royals..

The OCD in me tends to use the washers that come with the bushings (bottom), however with Ventures, I only ever use the flat bones washer with any bushings (if I'm not running a bones top in them).

The most common thing that people I know do who always want trucks way more loose than they can be stock is take out the bottom washer.  At first this might seem a bit weird, but it seems to give them exactly what they want in terms of turn and loose feeling without changing the geometry at all, so they say.

Of couse, I would think that it changes a lot, but I have skated their boards and they sure do turn well, with whatever bushings, stock or other, without the bottom washer on there, but it is just another thing that people do to avoid extra costs of buying this and that, while still having the same products.

Personally I have often cut or more recently sanded down just a bit of the top bushings (on the grip of the board), to make them fit better, as I still prefer to have all washers in place, but that is just me.

As a very simple, free and easily reversible option, trying the trucks without the bottom washer is now something I say to people to try first, just to see.  Some really like it while others get a bit weird with it, but it definitely does make everything more loose, that's for sure.

* I know this doesn't exactly help if you never had the stock bushings in those trucks to begin with, but in general, these options make things a bit easier when trying out stuff when you do have trucks from new, or at least any trucks that do feel too tight with the existing bushings.

Ventures are the only truck I don't fuck with. Indy's I have to use harder bushings, Thunders seem to explode constantly, Venture I put on my board and put the nylock flush and that's that.

Bones….i do realize though venture stocks are pretty good, soft enough to get a turn, but the barrel accentuates the ‘stability’….

Ace mediums or hard are a bit longer than stock, but they turn soooo fucking good. Mediums if you like to carve, hards if you want to keep the stock venture feel with slightly more turn. I run it without the bottom washer and a flat top washer, fuck the geometry, I can't tell a difference.

Can second this. I’m using ace hard bushings sanded down on my grip tape and they feel carvy and stable.
