Yeah, I liked the idea of the dimensions but stood on one and it just seemed too damn flat…
I’d consider drilling a set of baseplates after I’ve ground down a set of trucks, just nice to have around.
That said, a lot of the asks I see on the boards, when it actually happens it’s not life changing….
I just ended up sizing down trucks/boards….
It definitely varies depending on the board, where the bolt holes are drilled into the deck with regard to kicks, concave and other things.
The only reason I have drilled in so many is I had old trucks lying around, so thought that I could see if they work. These drilled in baseplates on longer wheelbase boards that the kicks have worn down actually work quite well, but I haven't ever looked at putting these trucks as they are on brand new boards to have a life changing Venture experience.
More just putting together old parts to see what works, if things are better, worse, etc.
Interesting and fun, more than anything.
I totally get what some people are saying about redrilling trucks too - they are tried and tested and have been like this for a while now because they work as they are, different trucks for different things, which is all good and well.
Sitting on "museum levels" of old and used parts is good for some things.
