I was watching Ishod Wair's insta clips and I forgot that he skated venture, and I was wondering, with thunder, he was with 147s, if anyone knows, I wonder if he skates the 5.25 Ventures on an 8.3 ? Very curious to know haha

Wait I’ve been out of the loop but I thought ishod was on thunder?

News to me as well. Is he on the hollows or standards? Ive always been a thunder guy but just recently got some 5.6 hollows to try out.

I don't know when others found out, but I heard Nikolai Piombo mention Ishod being on Ventures in a recent interview.

My bushings still going. Last 3 pairs.

Just remember you want the light purps. They’re almost translucent and they appear to have like a metal dust in them almost like pearlescent in appearance.

Thunder has a truck with purps rn. I need those to bushings. To match. JIC. The cold weather comes. Dude wtf!?! Mass is on fire like it’s California.

Jamie foy spoke about similar in his 9 Club interview.

Translucent deluxe bushings are the beez now. I ride hella loose trucks always. -Mr 5050 :(

Officially he's still on Thunder, at least according to the sponsors list on his website, but he's been skating Ventures for at least the better part of this year. iirc he was one of the first to test the V8 baseplates. I'm just guessing here, maybe he liked them so much he stuck with them?

Maybe "being on" more so meaning that he is currently riding Ventures, rather than being on the Venture team.

At the end of the day both Thunder and Venture are all under DLX Distribution, so not really a big deal.

He must be liking the drilled in option though - can't help but think if Thunder then had an offset option rather than middle of baseplate, if they would have a little more to add to their product.  I very much enjoy having a double drilled option on both Venture and Indy trucks now.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Yeah, for sure. I bet nobody at DLX cares which trucks Ishod rides as long as it's an in-house option. I only care in the sense that I'd immediately buy an Ishod Venture pro truck.

Yo Scabrous Jr. it was is us pals shouting at him for about a year after his nine club. If you didn’t watch that it’s a must.
He had accurately described the symptoms of his madness.  We heard and was like. Yo!!! You’re just making your thunder into a venture King. You born for this shit yo. It’s obvious.
He is for 100 the most beautiful on the bloard. Now he’s got the most beautiful truck to match his gifts.

We all benefit from this awakening. Look at the street we fucking did this all together. And everyone knows. Venture was the most slept on legacy product. Thank you DLXSF. My skating was all but dead.
My second rise was way way way more fun than my first 3 decades of regular life on Thunder’s

WKND was one of the last larger brands to have tons of PS shapes if they're switching PS must be really struggling.

That would be pretty cool any which way, cause if he likes them that much, there is maybe the easiest truck brand jump in history right there, both being under the same roof.

Definitely makes sense.

He commented on one of his Instagram post after someone mentioned the V8 (a bit before they were released) that he just tried Koston's board one day and got curious/interested, DLX got him some and he never went back to Thunders.

I think he's on 5.6, his setup looks much less magic carpet ride than when he was on Thunders 147.

The V8 is slightly drilled back roughly 1/8inch when on the standard holes. This is compared against a standard cast baseplate.

Thanks for posting this! To add to that it looks like the pivot cup and kingpin have been moved back/inwards towards the center of the board as well, decreasing the wheelbase even more. Peep the purp

I've had both in real life they're the same measured WB on the standard holes. The v8 plates are longer on both sides as the pic shows for more slide contact.

Asking the real questions. I've got 5 pairs of Ventures (2 heavily used, 3 new) with spare cast / forged baseplates already. Just the V8 baseplates in cast and forged would make a great xmas present to myself.
Venture Truck Height:

5.0 & 5.2 LO
STANDARD - 1.88” - 47.75mm
FORGED - 1.85”- 46.99mm

5.0 ,5.2, 5.6, 5.8 & 6.1 HI
STANDARD - 2.09” - 53.09mm
FORGED - 2.04” - 51.82m

That makes more sense! So the baseplate overall is bigger ie “more material.” Although in your pics I’m only seeing that the pivot housing side is extended? Looks like the kingpin side is shorter when you line them up. Anyway I’ll take your word for it for sure and check these out at my shop in person. They’re getting them in next week!

Yah it says they extended it in the release add.

Each plate adds 20g I think over cast hollow, might be 25

Westgate put this in story ! Some had said that they were running the venture high hollows now, but if I'm not mistaken, in this photo they are the Lows hollows, aren't they ? (In any case it seems to me that the red bushings are only on the lows!)

Those are low hangers but Venture puts them on lots of highs now. Just not the gold hardware of old.

Just wanted to say I’m loving the V8 baseplates. Put them on a 14.25 wb and shorten just the nose. The longer nose is really sick imo

Getting a set of V8’s. I want to take the graphic off though. I hat the best way? Rubbing alcohol? Acetone?

It’s either that or buy another set of Ventures so I don’t have a hanger with a graphic

Fine steel wool, took a graphic off some polished's with that (tip from here probably).

Either of those will work.  I have been using plain old paint stripper on a number of things recently - trucks to remove paint / graphics, deck bolts when they are the painted ones that I want to take back to black or silver, etc.

Paint stripper works great on anything like that and it comes up really well with no indication there has ever been paint on there at all, but for a fairly simple cheap solution, steel wool or the ghetto cheap ass solution, just some grip off cuts or scraper blade, but it might not look pretty afterwards.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

For mine, I soaked a cotton ball in acetone then let it sit on the truck (graphic) for about 20 minutes.
Afterwards I used a damp sponge and gently scrubbed and the graphic came off clean.

That way I’ll have 5.2 5.6 and 5.8s on tap. I have a couple pairs of five point sixes on deck.

Listened to Nikolai Pimobo on nine club and he mentioned wanting the 8 hole pattern for his pro truck but was told Koston gets it for the year.  Sounds like it’ll be in the mix still in the future.
