My curiosity got the best of me and I pulled the trigger on the AliExpress Big Boys. Here's my Initial review.

I purchased from a seller called "Drip-Dealer-Baggy-Jeans_Store". They had one of the lower prices and had the most 4-5 star reviews, it seemed like people for the most part were receiving jeans that matched what they ordered. I've never owned Big Boys before, but I'm a 34 waist in other Polar pants, so I went with the XL Light Blue. I ordered on May 28 and my total came to $24.50 after a first time buyer discount. I think shipping was like $3??

The seller actually shipped quickly, within a couple of days, but then nothing happened. They probably got handed to the postal service and then sat at a distro facility or airport for a week or two. They had "guaranteed" delivery by June 7th, which they missed and so I received a $1 discount code for my next purchase. Eventually they moved, they were handed off to the USPS and were delivered to me on Friday June 14th.

The quality is actually very good, but I was most surprised that it has ALL of the Polar tags. They're extremely similar to the tags I've received on my real Polar jeans. All the stitching is good, the Hems are nice, there's no dangling threads or unfinished hems. They even have a really nice Polar branded button on the front. It's possible that the denim is slightly thinner/slightly lower quality from real Big Boys, but I don't have a real pair to compare them to. However, the denim is definitely lighter/thinner than my Polar 92s.

The fit is good. They're a true 34" and feel good around the waist. They have good length too, so I can give them a small cuff at the bottom which I like. They're obviously very baggy and very roomy. The crotch is pretty low but that's just the Big Boy design.

I plan to skate in them soon, but I'm going to run them through the wash first. They don't have any funky or chemical scent that you sometimes get with Chinese goods, which is nice. I'll be interested to see how they hold up after a wash, but so far they're pretty legit.

Everyone an make their own decision about how they feel buying knock offs. I don't think I'm going to dip back in and become a Big Boy wearer, but I was definitely curious. The only other items I've ever bought from Chinese sites is Sports jerseys, which have usually been pretty good as well. I may post an update later on after skating and wearing them a bit.

Did you size up in these? I wear a M-L in Big Boys and I am a 36. Unless you wanted it baggy baggy

I followed the sketchy Chinese measurements on the website and it had XL listed as ~35” waist iirc. I wear a Large surf pant and a 34x34 Polar 92 jean so that’s all I have to compare to

Whoa! Aliexpress big boys look legit!  :o

They have ripoff Dime jeans too. Fucking hell!

Ok, I just ordered 3 pairs of knock off Dime jeans for $60 shipped. Will report back my findings.

I don’t think so, I think the waist would be too small. I wear a 34” in nearly all jeans and I can wear these XL without a belt. They’re just a very baggy fit. You could take your shot ordering the 93s from the same vendor if you want that fit.

I'll probably fall for this, been curios already for a while regarding big boys but those 93 look good. Anybody tried both so I can have some insight please?

Update - Went ahead and washed AND dried them *for science*. I normally wouldn't do that with jeans but I was curious.
The tag does say 100% cotton, I would say the waist came in about 1" and the length about 2". Slightly snugger around the waist and I can probably rock them without a cuff now and they won't drag behind my shoes.

So the knock off Dime jeans arrived (well, 2/3 arrived), and while I had originally intended to make a thorough observational post A/B’ing them alongside the genuine article, I have decided not to.

The light blue, and mono black denim are the two pairs I’ve received.

They don’t look terrible, but they’re quite goofy. The light blue denim pair for whatever reason has an embroidered “DIME” about 2” below the right front pocket. A detail that the genuine article does not.

The jean fabric itself is extremely thin. Which honestly isn’t the worst thing for warmer weather, but it’s nothing like the actual material used on the real deal.

The snap rivets and other detailings seem cheaper than the real thing (well, because they obviously are!).

Thats really it for my first impressions. I haven’t even got to the fit yet, as I’m still in work clothes.

Overall I’d say they surpass what I’d expect for $16 a pair, but they would never convincingly pass for someone who knows the real thing. Even the belt loop patch looks plasticky and made of the wrong material.

Yo can you post a pic of them? I got dime jeans like a month ago from mercari off someone and I think they are fake but didn't think anyone even made fake dime jeans lol. They fit your description and fit really weird

Sure, I’ll get them up later for you.

One big indicator is that the snap button and the rivet’s.

I’ll post pictures of the real vs the fake.

So this first image is obviously the waistline of both jeans for comparison. The darker jean is the authentic Dime denim, and the lighter the imitation. So the main differences that are instantly identifiable is the lack of tag on the inside of the knock off. The fake jean also has a little yellow “dime” tag just below the belt hem that doesn’t exist in the authentic article. Inside of the knock off is a papery fabric tag attached to the front that features Chinese script, and a size indicator.

Let’s move onto the next detail. So this next photo is precisely what one should see on the button of the genuine Jean. All buttons should be imprinted with the word “DIME”. Every button on the jean, including the rivet buttons should have some sort of imprint with the word “DIME”

The above is what you should see on a genuine DIME Jean. Below are the unmarked buttons used on the fake Jean.

Next photo is a comparison of the belt line patch. The authentic feels more like a typical embroidered patch, while the imitator is a glossier coarser material with an almost plastic look and feel. It’s really hard identify the difference in photo, so I am using feel to differentiate the two. The fake FEELS fake and inorganic. You can also identify the difference in width of the belt loops between the two in this photo, with the genuine Jean having a wider strip of material for the belt loops.

Last photo is of the humorously misplaced “DIME” text embroidered in the improper location. This should actually be up above the left pocket “entrance”, for lack of a better word. Not below the pocket.

I’d also like to backtrack on something I said yesterday regarding the thickness of the jeans. They actually feel pretty close in those regards. I simply haven’t worn my Dime jeans in a minute, and was sort of misremembering them to be thicker like a Polar or Butter Goods Jean. That is simply just inaccurate, these are a thinner denim.

Hopefully this post not only helps out, but has been an interesting comparison for the curious.

I got some Polar 44!s one size up from my normal waist size, and I’m in love. That are the loose semi-military-style chinos I’ve been looking for.
Only complaint is that the leg opening is a bit big for narrower shoes like vans, but work well with mid-size bikes like Joslins.

Stay tuned.

Thunders and risers is something I haven't seen much. Why not ride Indy or Ace?

A kid at the local told me Bob designed all the recent Quasi pants, which all have fairly weird fits.

My XL Ali big boys arrived but sure they feel like a 32. Quality and construction is pretty decent.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.
