Will try and chuck up some more pics and do a comparison with the regular one next week. It’s a NY0040 but there’s subtle differences and tweaks, even in the case design

@Silent Bob. okay that is pretty epic!
Is it your only watch? Seems like a pretty cool piece and now I want to see more pictures of the caseback

Sorry for late reply - I’ve one other watch; the breitling is almost the total opposite- small, about 25 years old and totally different style

@jay_nev what are you thinking of replacing it with?

I’m contemplating a Hamilton H76419931 35mm field watch but I tried on that grand seiko sbgw235 again the other week and it’s so yummy on the wrist! Would have to bounce a few pieces but it’s not completely out of reach...

I also repurchased another omega 36mm SMP because I had immediate sellers remorse after bouncing the one I owned. The new one I got isn’t in as good condition (well actually it’s not that bad but the bezel has some scratches) but I got an epic deal on it, hard to find them for less than 2k these days... I got it for 1.3 which is ridics when you compare it to what else you can by for $1300

So I bought another one of these (help me), not really a keeper but I still maintain that this watch wears ridiculously well for a 44mm diameter with 50mm lugs!
https://www.instagram.com/p/CNIAND_rQks/?igshid=1lzqd6pt8jnn9
In other news, a guy came into my office yesterday wearing all black business attire and a Rolex explorer and I gotta say it was the first time I thought, okay that watch is super classy! Can definitely see the similarities with my Tudor too though!

Also, seiko finally dropped a mid-size diver (38mm) :

Will be interested to see how it wears in the wrist

Wow, pretty slick. Considering the Seiko 5 sports page has a skateboard in its imagery... didn't see a full on collab coming though.

Seiko seems like a genuinely cool company... they value their heritage but are not afraid to push things and make ridiculous products using their tech.

The Street Fighter V and Naruto watches that came out recently are absolutely hideous, but I respect Seiko for making them. They're having some fun and that's rare in a big heritage brand like this, I love it.

as a seiko fanboy and also as someone who actually played SF1 in the arcade back in the day, let’s agree to never talk about this series ever again! 😂

I respect Seiko’s range too; they’ve got great watches in all lines from seiko 5 right up until GS

I don't hate that at all.  It's probably too thick and heavy for me to consider buying, even if I could find it.

So the rubber strap on my Orient isn't breaking in the way I had hoped.  Looking for a $20 strap.  Comfortable fabric one.
Probably a 2 piece, as I don't know if I want another layer underneath making mine any thicker.

Any brand recommendations?

You can boil your strap in hot water if you want to soften it up.

For two piece natos, you can’t go past
https://www.bartonwatchbands.com/collections/two-piece-nato-style-quick-release

Sail cloth is another option and I think @jay_nev has a nice one for his citizen. Watch gecko have a nice one I’ve heard ...

Anyone have experience with vintage Omega's? I am really into the look of some of the ones from the 60s.

Anybody took a look at the new rolex/tudor releases today?

Now that the explorer 1 in 36 is back i‘d buy one for retail price, yet that seems impossible to get your hands on.

great bang for buck if you can verify the movement/ authenticity. Those 60s seamasters have such a classic look and are super robust if you keep them serviced

yes, Rolex came to their senses and brought back the classic size explorer. The two tone one I could take or leave but I doubt I’d ever buy a new Rolex anyway just because of their ridiculous store/ customer policies.

The Tudor releases didn’t do much for me, the panda chronos look nice but they should have put them in a 39mm case. Silver black bay is meh and the bb36 color just makes me happy I own a blue one!

Yep 36mm is dope. Maybe the trend of giant watches is dying? As a small person, I hope so.

That being said, I want to see this Swatch in person...

It looks sick and I may need to buy it as my tshirt weather watch.

I also really like the re-release of the colored Cartier Tank Must, I've seen photos of the blue, green, and burgandy, and I like them all (although, this may be because I just rewatched Casino and am obsessed with Deniro's garish watches in that film).

That two tone one is terrible.
Over 10k retail for this ugly thing.
Not much improvement on the explorer II. lot of people where expecting a ceramic bezel or an even completely new explorer III, there where some great design mock ups floating around for a while.. that black dial version looks sick:

https://www.instagram.com/p/CNUmsMlgBTy/?igshid=nkqo2onamjuu

Now the watch still looks the same, and i think it looks outdated and it certainly isn‘t an iconic model the you wouldn‘t wanna change/update at some point.

I think frederico sums it up pretty, i totally agree with him on why that to tone explorer is a joke.

https://youtu.be/YVfdg7sp-Vk

I like the new green/olive dial on the nautilus.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CNWrOmNL3hH/?igshid=3nq9z7bc8ksf

Yet i‘d probably never buy a patek, even if i had the money.

Real confession: I don’t find the explorer ii or anything in pateks lineup even remotely attractive. Most Rolexs bore me tbh (there are definitely exceptions though), Omega on the other hand...
