I'd love if alien workshop and habitat started making all the old shapes 7.8 and under

I know there's one alien out at the moment but you can't get it in eu

freedomskateshop.at has all the good shit!

I have to share the fruits of my bounty guys,

Yesterday had a rehabilitation Sesh after doing something wack to my top ligament

Was skating my freshy 7.8 toy machine with the classic 14” wheelbase

A M A Z I N G!!

I was landing clean, the Board response was actually responsive to my muscle memory and it was light as F***!

Definitely sticking to a 14” wheelbase from now on and since they’re standard issue on 7.5-7.8 probably just gonna be riding 7.8 til I’m an old kook

What brands make an 8/8.12 with a 14” wheelbase besides girl/chocolate?
yes

First post here.
Ive been following this thread and the big boy board thread for a while now , contrast i know...

Anyway was wondering what itll be like going back to teenagehood and dropping the size back to the 90s.

Chocolate 7.8..
Thunder 147
And spits (conical)

Knee is being stupid but slowly getting used to it. Next itll be 7.75 i think.

When you guys measure the length, do you measure tip to tip or along the concave? I got a Shorty’s 7.5 that I’m deciding on whether I should skate or send back. It’s 30.7” ish tip to tip and 31 along the concave, I’m 6’1 so I’m a little worried it’ll be too short…

The correct way is tape pulled tight.

Great, thank you. I didn’t want to order a 31.25 from abroad just to find out it’s the same length as these.

Crail's G001 Shape seems pretty dope.
7.5" x 31"
Wheelbase: 14"
Nose: 6.5"
Tail: 6.3"
Love the classic Rick Howard graphic too.

Ever since i bought 129s i been tempted to try 7.75 board. Finally pulled a trigger and ordered Chocolate 7.75 x 31.1 G009 shape.

Any experiences on the shape/board? Definately shortest board i've ridden since 09.

I would love to see a picture of the edge. I got a funny feeling you clean them up proper. I miss doing this so bad.

Got bored and took a 8"x32 Maxalllure Down to 7.6x31.5
First time I've trimmed a deck in 20 years or more.
Nose looks huge in the picture but it's normal looking.

Thanks man..this time I borrowed a jigsaw and a orbit sander from my neighbor. When I was a young buck I would just use a table mount belt sander. Super simple if you have patience. If you don't have patience(like me) I smoke a bowl and have ONE beer ready for action.

Very cool. Gonna give it a go soon. I have a real Zion deck I got a present that's 8.25, 14wb that would be perfect.

Problem is it's already gripped lol. I presume I'd have to take grip off

You really should pull the grip..but I reshaped dozens of gripped decks back in the day. Leaving the grip on it just makes everything more difficult and is tough in your tools and shit. Have fun with it and take your time and it will come out awesome.

I'm about 195lbs with a size 13 foot. Since I first started skating boards 8" and bigger in about 2007-2008 I've been pretty much only skating those with the exception for the 70s style cruiser I have. I maxed out at 8.75" and pretty much have been riding 8.5" popsicles since ~2010 except for a shaped board every now and then that would hit maybe 8.9" or 9". About 3 months ago I won an 8" Maxallure board in a raffle and decided to skate it since I'm not that into wall hangers. I went out and got my first set of trucks under 8.25" in a long ass time for it as well as some 50mm bigheads and let me tell you, I had not had as much fun doing flatground prior to that in a long time. I really enjoyed how nimble it was, I had never been interested in doing shifty flips prior to that because I never thought of trying them with my big ass board but once I was riding that 8" I started doing them without even trying and it was super fun. I ended up cracking that board first day I skated it, and decided to go even smaller. I pulled some Streetcorner manufactured ~7.6 Ventures out of the garage that I hadn't used since elementary school, went to the local shop and got a 7.75" DGK. This thing is so fun!!! Since I got it I'll bring both my boards to the park and skate what I feel like skating at the time (my other board is an 8.5" on some loose ass Ace 44s and some 60mm NFG 95a Vees). I'm still trying to figure out what bushings work best with these trucks, as I don't like stock Venture bushings and all the aftermarket ones I've bought so far are too thick for the kingpin on these trucks, so if I want to screw the kingpin nut down close to flush I'm going to have to skate super tight trucks. I hate skating trucks when the kingpin nut isn't flush with the kingpin, I think I care more about that than the actual tightness level of my trucks but I'm having a hard time with how tight these Ventures are. I think my options right now are shave down some bushings with sandpaper to get them to turn better or just buy a different set of trucks (I've been thinking about trying those magnesium Tensors recently)

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

I chipped the tail on my alien 7.875 and am looking to try a different brand. Was considering an enjoi 7.75 but was concerned that the nose and tail might be too short for slides on thunders or ventures. Anyone have experience with these? I believe the dims are 7.75x31.1x13.88.

For venture I've had good luck with bones medium bushings no bottom washer plus the thin top washer that comes with it or the OEM venture top washer if you want it tighter and still be flush. If you have wheel bite problems try hard bottom and soft top.
