My session window is 8-10 but I needed to exchange my propane tank for my grill so that would have to cut into my session, plus I knew I wanted to take a walk on the beach in this window. First time skating a more rounded board instead of a squarer board in years. I had to relearn 360 flips. Also skating brand new 58mm 93a spitfires. I really like them. I didn't really do many ledge tricks besides 5050s, a couple backside nose slides and one nolle back lip. I did manage to film myself a little cause I was solo at the skate park. Wallrides still feel good like every try. I tried 2 frontside ones and I was close but I'm not going to ruin my whole skate window trying them so if a trick doesn't work I move to the next. I got a kid and a wife that would be bummed if I skated all day instead of playing with them. So this was all before 10 am. I don’t skate enough with all the life stuff but it’s never not fun.

Had coffee with my wife while I skated a parking block near some pickle ball courts. I ate shit on a slappy, old people played pickleball, the coffee was excellent and my wife got to see why I wear wrist guards all the time.

Yesterday did my first Ollie in 2 months. It hurt but less than expected. This recovery sucks but at least it seems going somewhere but way too slow.

Arrived at the park, full of very young children using it as a playground while their parents occasionally look over from the park benches. Made the most of the areas of the park not littered with kids

My last session on the angle iron box at the diy was going great. Landed a bunch of tricks, some I hadn't done in a little while. I was about to end the sesh on a really good back smith. I took a rip from my vape, cooled off a little bit and then thought: "I haven't done a fakie 5-0 today. I'll do one real quick". It's usually pretty easy for me. I almost do it first try, I'm thinking: "I definitely got it second T, then I'm going home". Well on the second go I whiff the pop and miss the box entirely. My left leg bashes into the angle iron and I slam hard on my right hand. Luckily my wrist was good, but I got a real nice shinner on my left leg now. Been about a year since my last bad shinner so I was due. I had to get greedy with "one last trick" tho lol.

I arrived and this kooky motherfucker with a loud speaker was rapping about vaccines, inflation, government controlling the population, Jesus being our savior, AI controlling us, Elon Musk controlling us, and all sorts of kooky nonsense.

I was fucking pissed as I had driven 30 minutes and just wanted to enjoy the park on my day off. I yelled at him to shut the fuck up. He kept rapping for another hour. It was absolutely infuriatingly annoying.

He was also trying to bribe Russian speaking children with stickers, skateboards, and other shit. It was absolutely beyond annoying.

I think he was super pissed that I yelled at him to shut the fuck up and could sort of interact with the kids in their own language.

On the plus side, one of the kids was super stoked on skateboarding, wanted to show me his kickflip attempts, and was stoked that I had lived in his home country (former Soviet Republic) and I can sort of speak his native language.

^^ vibe killer for sure.
I had a great session yesterday at my rather small local where you really have to take turns as only two or maybe three can go at the same time. Always amazing when you start flowing with others (unknown to me in this case),  everyone cheering and pushing each other in a super non-competitive way. These are the best sessions really.

Sessioned the tiny mini ramp I half-pressured my best friend to build into his barn a year ago. Since it's been completed he's become much fitter and is rapidly progressing although we're both way out of the natural progress age bracket. Learned two new tricks each, one of which I've been trying to get on transition for a while (properly slid bs lip). It was beautiful.

That's the best feeling for sure. I had a pleasure to experience a couple of this kinda sessions lately and it always feels great.

I've been swamped with work and other stuff so I couldn't skate last week as much as I would've wanted. Yesterday after work I thought I'd stop being miserable and go check out these parking lots nearby and ended up skating for almost two hours. Tried to do some Ray Barbee lines and also got a couple of blocks of curb to slide with only a rock and some candlewax. Also saw a fox and a couple of dudes taking pictures of a red hot rod. Felt amazing after.

On the morning I went to this sweet but tricky spot in Benalmádena and I had a lot of fun. Spot took pieces from my wheels and some from the nose. Had a blast.
Then went to Málaga for this DIY that was awesome. Got some shit done, which is nice since my ankle has been shitty lately, and took another piece of wood from the nose.
Great sessions.

Been trying out Adidas ADV shell toes and they really weren't working for me. I haven't skated a rubber toe shoe since the DC Clockers or something back in the mid-nineties. I felt like I had to change my foot placement and flick for all my flip tricks. Maybe it's all in my head but I was struggling super bad.

After 3 sessions of flailing around not landing shit I said "I'm giving these one more session before I switch to something else". Well, everything finally started working last session, got the adjusted foot position and flick down and was consistently popping and landing tricks.

But now I'm like, I guess I'm just skating shell toes forever cause I don't want to deal with another 4 session readjustment period.

My ledge game was working for the first time in years. Turns out I just needed a lower ledge.
Before you say the music sucked, have you considered shutting the fuck up?

I used to be “good” and skate all the time but am in my mid 30s and just haven’t skated much for the past 6 months.  Went to the park a few days ago and was scared to try anything on obstacles I used to always skate.  Ended up just crooking a ledge over and over and doing some tail slides on the qp, then skating flatground.  It was frustrating, to say the least.  It was also some incentive to get out there more often to keep the rust off.

Skated this Sunday morning again at the same park. Felt like a new born horse trying to stand on skateboard. My legs felt so shaky and I kid you not I don’t really recall landing anything. It was also my 34th birthday. Still fun to roll around even it’s the worst session ever and your birthday lol.

Most of my skate sessions these days are solo after work. I've got an office right up the street from me with decent flatground in the parking lot and some curbs. They have these weird motion sensor cameras in the parking lot, the kind that start flashing red and blue lights and panning with your movement when you set them off. However, I usually go there in the evening when everyone who works there has cleared out for the day, so I've yet to be bothered by anyone while skating there.

About a month ago, I spent a couple nights rub bricking and saucing a 20 foot section of curb at the far end of the lot, away from the cameras. The curb still feels a tad bit chunky even after doctoring it up, but grinds pretty well with a fresh coat of wax and it's the perfect height and shape for me. Low enough to learn new slappy tricks on, but tall enough for it to still feel like a real slappy, you know? It's not rounded off on top, but doesn't have a sharp 90 degree edge either. For a spot I don't have to drive to, it works.

Anyway, my most recent session was last Friday at that spot. Long day at work, I decided to get a quick session in before the sun goes down. Got all warmed up and was feeling good. Wound up twisting my ankle not even attempting a trick, just went to retrieve my board and stepped off the curb awkwardly. Now I'm RICEing my shit and watching skate videos in the evening til I can skate again. After typing this all out it feels like a "dear diary" sort of post, but then again that's pretty much what this thread is for, so...

been spending time working on my knee so it doesn't bother me as much. PT/stretching/etc. tonight felt like the first time in a while that I was back to my 'old self' skating. Finally had some confidence. Not anything out of the ordinary but ready to try and learn new stuff.

Can't wait to skate tomorrow

Been running 3 miles every morning and climbing ladders for work. Finally hitting the point where im not getting tired after an hour or 90 min of skating.

Theres a 1/2 mile paved path next to my house. Spent an hour yesterday cruising up and down working on that elusive 3 flip. Closest ive ever gotten. Think i need to pop it more

Went to the skate jail today and did a bunch of noseslides on a marble step. Did some boardslides the length of a 10ish foot long round rail. That was pretty fun- im usually just hitting short slides, so to go the whole length, i was def feeling the experience of a longer period of time sliding.

Felt a slight twinge of a tweak in the right mid back and even though it went away, said “you’re done, son.” Easier to skate more tmrw than have a sore back and not skate, work, or sleep for a week or something.

Hope you're able to skate soon. No worries about the dear diary thing - I treat this thread the exact same way.

I bought another set of 58mm 93a F4 spitfires and some reds bearings and a shaped deck I was going to set up as another board but it's much less wide than I thought so I just randomly put the wheels on my sk8mafia shaped micro board and it looks insane. I was sitting out back after putting my daughter to bed and I tossed them on. I ended up skating it a little. I wasn't wearing my skate shoes either I skated them in the vans croc shoe (I don't remember what they're called). Did two good feeling kick flips. Dang that thing is pretty hard to skate, but it was still fun.

Left work at noon to get a lunch sesh in, boss pulled in with some other people I needed to help, so sesh got aborted.
Work sucks.
