Too many vegetables can cause bloating, use wheat grass, peppermint oil, and tumeric for IBS.

Save some money, use it to purchase a plane ticket to a country you don’t speak the language. Go there. Be respectful. Have a good time. Be kind.

You can totally just lie to little kids at the skate park and tell them you’re a professional skater.  They’ll just believe you because they’re little kids and they don’t know shit.  8)
When nothing in society deserves respect, we should fashion for ourselves in solitude new silent loyalties.

Take this advice in counter.
They'll grow up and know you're lying piece of shit. Treat youngsters as any equal with dignity and respect, it's what you put into your local skate scene you'll get back..

If you need a printer, buy one with ink tanks. You'll pay much more upfront. The money you'll save not using cartridges will pay for itself several times over.

I told some little kids I was Tony Hawk when I was 12 and they had me sign their boards. I had a Hawk board and the hairdo.
Bet those kids are still mad from 1988.

If you need a printer, buy one with ink tanks. You'll pay much more upfront. The money you'll save not using cartridges will pay for itself several times over.

Your local library might offer free printing, or at least cheap options. I've never owned a printer that hasn't sucked and I don't need it often enough to justify spending more than like $200 on one. When the last one died, I just started going to the library and printing there. I get 5 free prints a day, and even after that, its like 10 cents a page. I use it whenever I have a package to ship and I need to prepay for shipping.

Might be a bit too late in the game, but test the Christmas lights before you hang them on your house. Learned that one the hard way this year and had to hang lights twice.

Don't piss in fires generally, it makes a lot of smoke.

if you're at a party/thing you don't want to be at - offer the host a helping hand with anything and dip immediately after

they'll remember you being helpful at the party more than you not being around

not so much advice as a little nugget of wisdom...

life often becomes far too much a habit, try to take a moment every now and then to realise things

Kind of similar to the post above.. but lately I’ve been trying to not seek information I don’t actually need to know at that moment.  I’ve always struggled with over-thinking, over-planning, and worrying about things I don’t need to way in advance.. which I’ve realized is poisonous to my mental health.  So I guess I’m just trying to live in the moment more.

If you like loud music and you're not in a private setting or with friends then wear headphones. No one thinks you're cool and it's obnoxious.

For any new parents;

When you go in to settle the baby and you pick them up to rock them back to sleep don’t think you have won if the baby is asleep in 5-10 minutes - continue the motions that got the baby back to sleep for at least another 15-20 minutes, this will ensure the baby goes into a deeper stage of sleep hopefully giving you a larger gap between waking stages.

A guy I used to work with would often say the following:
A privilege not used is a privilege abused (ie make use of your sick leave).
It's not what you know, it's what you can prove (it doesn't matter if your boss knows you weren't actually sick provided they can't prove it).

You don't have to attend every argument you are invited to.

back in high school my trigonometry teacher, a preacher, always said this and I won't ever forget it:
-do not assume (in math and in life)

18 years later I bump into him when I was subbing a class and let him know how those words always stuck with me,
and he just smiled.

also,

-you suffer more in imagination than in reality.

-focus on what you can control (or, what you think and your actions)

pretty much the whole stoic school of thought is pretty neat.
let's keep this thread going

I just want everyone to know that I'm only 32.8% skateboarder, and that's on a good day. The rest is just soy and cum.
