When people refer to "support" and "stability" in a shoe, what exactly are they referring to?
When I say support, I'm usually talking about padding, and how protected my feet feel in the shoe in ways other than cushion/impact protection, as well as how structured the shoe feels (so not a super floppy vulc).
When I say stability, I'm usually talking about how secure my foot feels in the shoe, and how protected I feel from ankle rolls as a result of a structured shoe with a wide base. But also how structured the shoe feels. If its really floppy, then usually its not too stable, though there may be exceptions.
Seems like these terms aren't really well defined and people refer to different things when mentioning support and stability.
