Does anybody know if a 1/16th riser that fits venture cast plates exists? Preferably one where I can still use 7/8 bolts (dont know if thats possible)
Wheels getting a lil small messing with timing on certain tricks, but feels wasteful to retire them when they're still in the 52 range
I could have answered in the Venture thread, but being more risers and bolts, I guess it is more for anyone on any truck.
For 1/16 which is 1.5 mm, I would be making my own risers from whatever card or something is available, just cut it to size, or slightly less than the baseplate and hole punch or cut squares / rectangles for bolt holes and that would work better.
Card or cardboard might be 1 mm, as per some I have used, which should be enough to bring a truck up so that smaller wheels will still get the right pop and not cause any other issues, with board feeling soggy or sounding funny with plastic risers either.
As for bolts, if you use anything with the low nuts, like Shortys or similar, then you can easily fit those in there, but even with regular nuts, tightening any 7/8" bolts down in the board a bit will still fit on well enough, but only just.
Broadly speaking, thin risers can be made from almost anything, so my most common go to is some offcuts of rubber sheeting that I cut out, in both 1 mm and 2 mm which is perfect to fit under trucks and keep everything working well, but some people don't like rubber at all, so card, or cardboard, or even those plastic gift cards / credit cards or similar plastic card will also work, cut to size, drill holes in it for bolts and away you go.
Might not quite be a pre made and simple solution, but a number of the thin risers I have had in the past are just not readily available any more, or only available from very few shops as old stock, or like the Dooks very thin risers, they are useless and compress to nothing, so are not really worth getting anyway as risers - marketed as shock gaskets, not risers to be precise.
Indy does a 1/16 shock pad as well, which I didn't know, so only just saw them on a local shop site, which would fit under Ventures, but you would need longer bolts, or the thin nuts for sure on there.
As Scab said in the Venture thread, Ace 1/16th pads as well.
