How's the sizing on the one star pros?

I’ve been skating in the joslin cupsoles for the last 4 or 5 years. I’ve still got a stockpile of 6 pairs. I noticed that all the new ones coming out have that big etnies logo on the side. Mine all have the small logo. Has anyone removed the big etnies logo from these? Can you confirm if it can be removed without destroying the shoe?

Would I be correct in thinking that Venture Lows with a forged baseplate (V-Hollows/V-Lights) are the lowest readily available trucks still in production? And they measure at 47mm in height?

I assume there aren't any other truck options that are lower unless anyone knows otherwise? I've seen Tensor Mag Lows for sale here and there but wasn't sure if they were still actually being manufactured or just old stock.

Any help is appreciated!
[close]

Yes that is correct about the height of the venture lows. I personally wasn't interested in riding anything by other brands that aren't on the chart in my signature, but I am riding Lurpivs right now and really like them  8) (55mm beasts)

Thank you for the reply rawbertson, think I'm going to go for some 5.0 V-Hollow Lows as my next trucks. I'm currently on some mini logo 7.63" trucks with 48mm 99a Sabbath wheels. I really like the wheels but I'm now curious to try going as low as practically possible.

All the best and I'm glad you're liking your Lurpivs :)

From what I've seen on the newer models. Some have the Etnies "E" stitched on, which can be easily removed. Some other models have the "E" logo in that gum like material which I am not sure how to remove it, but you can paint over it.

Every few weeks I check Skatedeluxe for shoes. Not because I need some but for some good deals for my homie. It seems like they haven't got any new models from the former Sole Tech companies in for quite a while now. I don't know if that means something, it's just something I saw the past few months since the acquisation of the Nidecker group. If you look at other companies they seem to get some new shoes in kinda regularly.

what truck company did quim cardona ride for for most of his career? I know later on he was on Destructo supposedly, but just curious. His footage in Static IV looks too blurry to tell.

Is it just me or anyone else find the quality of dime tees doesn't match the price at all, as in they're genuinely shitty tees? My dime hoodies and a knitwear item I have seem decent but I don't think I'll ever buy a dime tee again, recently had a friend receive one with a hole in it too lol

38 and I almost exclusively skated Thundees growing up mostly motivated by Jerry and MJ. Looking at the roster here they were far behind the Indy and Venture teams of the time but this is before they got absolutely stacked. Orion had a smaller squad, but dudes like Kalis and Drydek whereas this roster on Thunder had some dudes that faded or was pre-legend. Horrible wasn't the right word, but "less stacked than they'd ever be" makes more sense.

A lot of these guys also didn't actually ride Thunders. Heath, Karl, Kerry, and Bam. Maybe a token ad, but Karl always had Ventures during this time when I saw him in person, Bam and Heath always skated Indy's even when they were on Destructo or other brands. Scott Johnston definitely skated Thunders and he, MJ, Quim, Clyde, and Frank are who they are now of course. I do remember going to the old Union Square and EMB and surprisingly seeing zero Thunder riders despite their ads in mags or sponsorship.

So ya, not horrible, but of the now big 3 definitely wasn't as stacked as they were 5-10 years later.

Generator generic- it's actually pretty good! I like Pepper but our shop has the same stuff and I never regret getting it when they're out of Pepper.

Thanks, I've been using pepper lately and really like it but if the generic isn't too bad I'll just suck it up and try it out.

How's the sizing on the one star pros?

I usually start half a size down on Cons. I've got a few pairs of one stars that are smaller and bigger than my size (9.0), and they all "work" but the 8.5s fit snug and probably more "true", and 9s fit big but sometimes that extra play is nice. 9.5s are definitely too big but still wearable.

Hope that helps

Not relevant, but an aside: I was running CTAS lows for a stint a few years ago, and those seemed to fit consistently TTS, oddly enough.
Wow sorry, didn't realise I was dealing with a sick cunt here

i agree, half size down usually or tts if you've got a wider foot. the academy model seems to be tighter though, don't size down on those.

Not really a question, just a rant. Less than a week ago i spent 120 on a ftc backpack and the zipper already broke. Thats pretty fucked up. I got this to replace an Osiris backpack from literally 2005 and all the zippers on that bag still work great.

Is ftc really ok with being lower quality than Osiris? Thats pretty embarrassing. I could forgive if it was like 40 bucks but for 120 we are getting into Patagonia territory.

So fuck ftc yall wack.

Prob not really what you're after but there's a 5boro 8 that has a pointy nose and a squared tail.

Is there someone here who is good at skateboarding and can give feedback on the && shape ?
It's a best seller but most buyers are just old &/or bad at skateboarding people who are like "this shape is amazing".
I'm pretty sure this shape is good for && but awful for any normal skateboarders.
We're in scam territory, right ?
