wow Thunder had a horrible team at that point in time.
Complete nonsense.
You're either too young or... Let's say "not cultured" enough.
38 and I almost exclusively skated Thundees growing up mostly motivated by Jerry and MJ. Looking at the roster here they were far behind the Indy and Venture teams of the time but this is before they got absolutely stacked. Orion had a smaller squad, but dudes like Kalis and Drydek whereas this roster on Thunder had some dudes that faded or was pre-legend. Horrible wasn't the right word, but "less stacked than they'd ever be" makes more sense.
A lot of these guys also didn't actually ride Thunders. Heath, Karl, Kerry, and Bam. Maybe a token ad, but Karl always had Ventures during this time when I saw him in person, Bam and Heath always skated Indy's even when they were on Destructo or other brands. Scott Johnston definitely skated Thunders and he, MJ, Quim, Clyde, and Frank are who they are now of course. I do remember going to the old Union Square and EMB and surprisingly seeing zero Thunder riders despite their ads in mags or sponsorship.
So ya, not horrible, but of the now big 3 definitely wasn't as stacked as they were 5-10 years later.
