Got a sick snowman stamp and a pad of pigment ink. Was gonna put some sick snowmen on a blank I have. Didn’t check before and can’t find info now. Is the pad of pigment ink gonna work on the board or is it gonna not dry and just wipe off? And if it doesn’t work any suggestions for an ink to use?

The pad ink should be alcohol based so it should dry within minutes.

If you have trouble with it smearing then clean it off with alcohol and sand off the clear coat. After it dries clear coat over it with polyurethane not varnish, shellac or lacquer

Is Josh Wilson still on Venture? Did a bunch of dudes they picked up during their rise in 2020-2021 already dip?

So I have a weird one to ask.

Some time ago I ordered a set of raw ventures online, and when they arrived they were covered in what appeared to be a powder. Fast forward to some time spent storing my board in a dark place, it quickly became apparent that this white substance was actually mold. The trucks then shortly after started becoming spotted with black mold.

I don’t know where the online vendor stored these for this to occur, but now I’m wondering if there’s any kind of liquid I can soak the trucks in that should kill the mold, but not damage the integrity of the metal itself?

If anyone has any idea, it would be hugely appreciated.

it might just be aluminium corrosion

Do you guys check when the board was released when you buy a board, in order to be sure that the board haven't stayed in a warehouse for too long? I was checking online sales of hardware and some board are from 3 or 4 years ago, would it be an issue for the quality of the deck?

I regularly buy cheaper sale boards, some from more than a while ago and they almost always skate just the same, no issues or differences to something that is current release.  Most of these have not been sitting in sale bins in shops or incorrectly stored though.

The only issue I would say is if a board has been sitting in a shop window or stored incorrectly for a while, in which case it could warp or become too dry, but that is more so if it is out of shrink too.

Pretty much every board, still in shrink, even from ten plus years ago I have set up (and there are a few like that) have all been good with no problems.

Actually been very surprised by how old some boards are when I went back to check when they were released, especially with keeping a lot of the catalogs, such as DLX boards.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Anyone have any experience on the Hardbody shapes?  Short tail?  Steep kicks?  Overall length?  Specifically the 8.25.

Which 8.25 decks don’t have too pointy tail:nose and steeper concave / not too flat?

Alien workshop decks have been a tad bit too long for me. Quasi proto have short tails, right?
FA/Hockey has great shapes.
Whatelse is similar? Doesn’t need to be that blunt in the kicks
The new quasi proto with the foil is made by bbs which have a longer tail. It would be worth a try.

Anyone know a decent place to buy quality camo pants? My LRG’s were anything but, and are ill fitting.

I checked some online, as I don’t have any nearby, and it’s hard to get an idea of what kind of quality/how reputable the sites are. I suppose maybe I’m being too particular.

Thanks guys!

I know you don’t have a MSS near you, so try thrift stores. Halloweens almost here and around my area they always drag out the Dress and BDUs for it.

Any places one should look for old decks other than eBay where people would be open to shipping to Europe?

I remember back in like 03 someone had given me a deck that had ridges on the top and bottom ply. I wanna say it was a Toy Machine but I cannot find anything like it on Google.

Can someone help me find the board?

I had a Flip “new wave” construction bloard around that time. Here’s what I found with a quick search:

I think toy machine and foundation also had something called pop top. Don't really remember what it was but the ad was a quote from Ethan that was "stiffer than a teenager around cheerleaders" or something.

Thank you pals! That was a really good board and it did last longer than other boards at the time. Thanks for helping me with the info. Now I won't go crazy thinking about it lol.

I dont have facebook but a friend of mine sells his stuff in some skateboard collectors page. There is art of skateboarding too I think they have a forum

The issue isn't so much the shipping cost because you should be paying for that, it's the paperwork. Offer to pay them for their troubles too

If we're talking thousands of dollars I would have them hold it for you and fly yourself out when you can

I’m looking for a set of trucks that are forgiving on wheelbite to make a 7.75/8.0 setup that’s a cheat code for flat although I’ll still do my usual ledge+curb tricks if I want to switch things up for a day or try some crazy combos. Any suggestions? I was thinking about Venture Lows or even Lurpivs, Krux, Tensor or Royals. I’m coming off a set of axled and bushing-shredded Thunder 148s.

One of my friends was skating a extremely similar setup to me, same trucks and similar wheels, but he had an 8.625 GX1000 shovel nose deck. I tried it for a second and immediately fell in love with it. Fit my skating perfectly. I love this shape so much. I'd love to find any and all boards with the same shape or at least similar. Looking at the woodshop thread, it seems unclear if the GX decks are PS or BBS (this felt in line with a lot of PS boards I've had, but not really sure).

It seems like WKND's 8.6SN shape is also pretty close, but if anyone knows about any companies that make an 8.6 Shovel nose with a 14.5 wb or something similar.

Not sure if this will help but I was recently riding a 8.0 deck on various trucks including old Thunders 145 (not sure what generation but they were old with 6 hole pattern), Ace AF1 44s, which both got a lot of wheel bite, especially the Thunders. I went back to the original trucks I had with that board, which were stage 9 Indy 129 with original stiff and crusty bushings. Didn’t turn as good but wheelbite wasn’t an issue.

Venture Hi Forged?  Still a lower truck, they don’t wheelbite, Lurpivs are too high IMO.  Royals might work as well… check the threads out.

I know they ain't on your list,  but Ace AF1 lows,   I get no wheelbite,  not even marks on my board
The 22's are 7.75 axle too so they meant to fit 7.5-8' decks.  Might work for you
