Tried a Polarizer yesterday. Don't really get it. The guy explained that it's so you don't get the urge to do a kickturn and have to carve. Ok..
Cool story dude 👍
What would you say is the appeal, specifically over a kicktailed board?
The appeal to me is that the most fundamental acts of skateboarding, riding and carving, are themselves challenging and very different than on a traditional board. I’ve been polarizing regularly for years now and still find myself humbled nearly every time I ride it.
Re: tricks, I flip my regular board all day, flatground flip tricks are my favorite aspect of skating, but I’ve never had the desire to do a flip trick on a polarizer, it’s just not what they’re for and, at least to me, it feels very clear the moment you step on one, just by design it demands to be ridden, not flipped.
Anyways, it’s just a skateboard, use it however you want, and maybe in your exploration you’ll find something new and exciting like Neil did and share it with us all.
