No lies. That’s just a statement of fact, at this time. I’d like to see King come together into something, but (like Brick) it seems to be just drifting along without any structure, product, team or cohesion bigger than a general idea. I hope that changes, but it seems just as likely to just go nowhere for years, until TJ drops his next batch of bangers and wins SOTY again in 4 years time. I’m not even saying Disorder is great, but at least they have product, brand, identity, team and shapes etc. I’m a fan of Tyshawn skating for sure, but King compared to disorder makes Nyjah look like a marketing business genius.

The Quasi Proto is a flat PS board and the two I had lasted forever it felt.

I also get a lot of life out of my PS Quasi too, they last me longer than BBS (which obviously isn’t everyone experience, but its the case for me). There’s the initial breaking in, then days when it feels soft/almostcracked, and then it really comes into its own and last for weeks, even months actually.

I switched my trucks so much in some decks that the hardware holes are a little sunk in. So I’ve just decided to keep my setups as they are until the deck is destroyed. The truck madness never ends. I own Indy, Ace, Krux, and Thunder and refuse to try any more brands. Just gonna stick to 159 Indys on 8.5 boards for my main setups. All the time spent switching stuff could be spent skating and improving lol

Stop planting madness seeds in my mind! Lol, not gonna lie, I thought about it after seeing the Kader ones. Maybe one day. I think it’s safe to say I’ll never be an Ace guy. Ben sets a lot of stuff up and I’ve noticed he rarely uses Aces either.

Other than the deck, Ben and I have I think functionally identical setups. 51mm Spitfire 99 classics, Quantum bearings, Venture Lows. I love it, and the Lows are always on super sale everywhere because no one wants them.

Ben threw me off with the switch to venture lows. Last pair of venture lows I had were some 5.2 low hollows some years back. This really made me wanna try em out again especially now that DLX has the true fit mold

If you've watched his channel long enough you'd know he's already been on low/small setups several times only to go back to something bigger. I guarantee he will claim the Venture lo only work on this shape and the next one will require something else and he missed X so now he's back on 8.25" trucks.

Some days I regret finding Ben’s channel lol. He passed down his madness to me, and taught me so much, things I now wish to forget 😂

Jokes aside, it’s amazing hearing Pros say they never really thought about WB. Some of it might seem mental, but I can feel the difference between 14 and 14.5, especially as a taller rider.

I guess it doesn’t matter to lots of pros cause most of them seem average height. Like I heard one say, “I skate 8 cause that’s my shoe size.” Must be nice 🤣

At least I think I've narrowed it down to ventures and indys when it comes to the truck madness.  7/8" Shortys Silverados for life! That is non-negotiable.

It's funny cause I remember getting into huge madness when i was trying to buy guitar stuff a long time ago. I went down such a rabbit hole it all just started to become overwhelming and numbing to think about.

I definintely have some madness for skateboards but I am very particular in what I like and I feel like I have everything exactly how I want it:

i have 4 different setups;

8" with Ventures, 50mm Bones STF (flip trick setup)
8.5" with Thunders, 53mm Spitfire F4 (all around setup that i mostly use)
8.75" with Indy's, 56mm OJ 95a (Rough Spots ATV)
9" Egg with Aces, 47mm Bones STF (Curb Crusher)

now I just mess around with the wheelbases to try to get them to match what I would want them to be like for that purpose. Basically since I have stumpy legs, I want short wheel bases on all my boards except the ATV. as the parts wear out I will switch them (Like when the OJs wear out I will want dragons for sure on that setup).

I have rode all these setups for extended periods of time so in that sense I am not really that "mad" I kind of just have certain ones for certain spots that I like better. I rode the ATV for about 6 months and i could still do 3 flips on it, but it definitely feels a lot harder than when i use the 8" board or even the 8.5".  the shape is very goofy but i feel like it has more to do with the wheelbase being so long than the pockets. i remember whne I first got this board it felt so weird the timing of when the nose hit the floor on a nollie or fakie trick it felt super fucked and i just missed the floor entirely sometimes
