Street bonelesses
« on: January 12, 2023, 05:50:48 PM »
Will there be a resurgence of this trick in 2023?

Also, is it ever acceptable?

Backside maybe, it is far most tasteful of two directions.

Ali Boulala, Emile Laurent and Zered Bassett did the only three street bonelesses that should ever be done

Street boneless, backside, frontside, they do serve a purpose. They get you comfortable jumping on your board, if you can blast a big frontside boneless it feels pretty good, if you get anywhere close to Jeff Phillips on a vErT ramp or Lee Ralph then more power to you.

But, maybe we should ask Kelly Hart with his jump rope expertise, the front to back to front to back hopscotch jump rope boneless is no joke.

I’ve been eating quite a few boneless wings out in these streets and plan to continue to do so in 2023 (buffalo, garlic parm, old bay - let’s get it)

Dang, I strained my neck watching street boneless' on a PC lol...

I think they always look pretty bad on film but they are fun to do.

As a native Marylander old bay wings kinda suck, old bay is probably one of the most overrated seasonings of all time. It has a place but it doesn’t go with everything like people act

Hot take: no complys deserve to be as illegal as bonelesses, and I find bonelesses very impressive when people can blast them and do them quickly

Also boneless into handrails is sick

Like benihanas and pressure flips etc it's always acceptable for fun but for filming it's gotta be pretty good. If you're taking yourself really seriously doing one maybe just relax

I don't like bending down to grab rail before the board has left the ground.

But I do like the old no comply bounce, catch, bean plant. You seen that? Drehobl does it good.

Unless you're doing one into a hurricane on a handrail like Zane you might want to rethink pulling one out

Backside will look much better, but it needs to depend on the street obstacle or the style

Is there any trick that is more different frontside vs backside than the boneless? Backside seems a lot more delicate, nimble and precise, where frontside is like rahhh brute force mike v smash.

i would rather put a bullet in my head than do a 360 frontside boneless down a set but props to this kid for being brave

If you watch the rest of the video, there's actually a good amount of sick skating. One kid sacks a rail.

I made a rule as a tall guy no grabbing the sides of the board. Beanplant/nosegrab boneless while still not cool is a little nicer. (Don't pre grab, pop that shit up into your hand)

i like the arguments against doing them based on being too fat, tall, and/or simply lazy to bend over to grab the board.

Imagine how high tyshawn could boneless if he practiced them really hard, that would be insanely sick if he could do them like 4 feet off the ground
