How long until they make an SB version of these^^?

They had that Lance colorway but, will they make a special colorway or a "pro" model?

Got these Classic Sambas a week ago. I think I'll skate them eventually but idunno how soon. I'm not used to the arch support (I peeled off the little insert under the insole to make it flatter) since I only wear skate shoes and my feet are flat as fuck, so that'll be a trip.

[close]

Do they feel stable? How grippy do they seem and how is the impact absorption? I'm really tempted to pick up a pair in that colourway too.
I tried on a pair of these at Macy's the other day and they feel so nice. They're actually really comfy for how relatively thin they are. The arch support felt nice under my flat feet too.

Haven't skated them yet but the grip is pretty good, and it was made for practicing soccer on a frozen pitch so that doesn't surprise me. It's a cupsole so I'd assume it absorbs impact pretty well. I almost always wear vulcs and it feels pretty similar. Honestly if I were you I'd just go for the Busenitz Samba, I just got these because they were 40 bones on amazon.
EDIT: I went out in them earlier and did some jumping/stomping around, they seem to absorb impact pretty well.

How do they fit? Narrow? is it really low cut? I'm a size 13 for most shoes, but I might want to put in an insole so would it be wise to get a 13.5? Thanks

That would be way too smart for Nike to do.

I'd say it is just a little narrow as it is a soccer shoe. I'm a 10 and that's what I got but I think I'd rather have a 10.5

Got these Koston 3's for $74 during the year-end sale and came up. Stiff as a muthafucka out the box but I've broken them in and they skate so nicely

I take back every negative thing I've ever said about this shoe. Holy shit, I got the black and teal ones from the same sale, I don't want other shoes.

I want everyone that said was a naysayer about this shoe to actually get a pair and skate it. They have everything a skateshoe should have. Superb heel lock, forefoot support, well ventilated, fairly grippy, really good boardfeel but enough protection, really light, etc...The price is still nuts, but on sale I wouldnt think twice. They're next level.

Original DVS Francisco's from the 1st run, maybe 2002 or 2003.

They work well in my semi-formal place of employment [where I am currently sitting while I type].

Wool socks with them are a must plus.

Yeah I hope I can continue to find these on sale down the line because I could go through a few pairs of these. For everything you're getting I think that $95 would be a fair price for retail. If you can find them for anything less than that its a come up

Felt the same way. after an hour of skating  in them, they felt really good on both comfort and skating...i'm still skeptical about the mesh because i have a weird way of positioning my ollie's and they tend to drag from side toe and towards the top end of the side panel. So far it looks like the side's of the forefoot sole are taking all the damage and luckily haven't reach no where close to the mesh. The XT version's rendition of the toe cap is more of a thick screened rubber and it feels better than a full on rubber toe cap. Now on the hunt to get more since they've lowered them down from $150 to $109. lucked out on a coupon sale last week so i had to get two!

How are these?

They're pretty comfortable.  I haven't got to skate em' yet because it's been frigid where I live.  One thing I noticed though was that the grip seems really slippery -- I've never had that issue with other Emericas I've owned (Romero, Reynolds, etc)..

grip seems to be an issue on these shoes due to the felt material on the sole! after a couple sessions it should be gone!

I'm really trying not to skate my Sambas yet but oh my lord the support of a cupsole is so good. Do you guys think I could get away with a 40 minute session and not them up too much?

I went with my usual 10 and they fit great. I was worried because I've seen a few reviews say go half a size down, but I think that's just because it's such a snug fitting shoe & they're pretty stiff at first. That being said, I don't have anything about my feet that makes it hard to fit most shoes.

grip seems to be an issue on these shoes due to the felt material on the sole! after a couple sessions it should be gone!

I bought a pair and was bummed out by the felt sprayed on the bottom. Budget brands do that as a way to pay lower import duties when shipping from China, Vietnam, etc. With that "felt" covering more than 50% of the bottom, it is considered a "house slipper" for international trade, and thus you pay less duty per unit. Makes sense for business, and that's probably how they released such a good shoe for such a low price.

That's how brands you find at Target or Walmart (cheapo Converse All-Stars and Airspeed) can sell shoes for $20... cheap materials, and cheaper import costs. Look at any of those shoes, you will find "felt" on the bottom.

But that felt rubs off pretty quick. It's essentially just spray-glued and flocked with a little fuzz. Grip should be fine after a session or two.
