Went to the park with my 1 year old son and brought my cruiser board. He was smiling and giggling the whole time my wife was pushing him on his little trike on the way to the park as he watched me skate close by. When we got to the park, I sat down with him and cruised around and he loved it. Every time we stopped, he started grunting and tapping his foot on the ground like, "let's go! why are you stopping?"

Fun times.

Had our big meeting today. I worked on an outline for all our complaints for 3 hours last night. The meeting started and the supervisors went over some bullshit numbers to try and convince us the stuff they have us doing is working. They said all the supervisors are going to leave the room, we want you guys to talk and write down questions for us to answer. I interrupted and said I've already spoke with most of the workers and have all our concerns here, they still said, well we're still gonna leave in case anything was missed. So they leave the room and everyone turns to me.

I go over my 2 pages of notes and everyone is on board. So much so that out of 50 people (half of our staff) only 3 people had additional questions. So the supervisors come back in and I kick it off. I said anyone feel free to chime in and keep it professional. I spoke for 40 minutes with people jumping in and backing up my points throughout. The supervisors kept trying to get me to wrap it up but I didn't let them. I went point by point on where they are fucking up. I talked about how many people are going on leave or going into therapy over work conditions. And that its become a joke in the office to go get drunk after work to cope, but that is sad to hear that people using substances to cope has become something to laugh about and encourage.

I brought up that not a single person I spoke with has said they like their job, have a sense of satisfaction, feels appreciated or think that what we are doing is working.

I read to everyone what occupational burnout is and how what we are being asked to do is causing it.

I brought up how far the workplace morale has dropped.

I brought up that supervisors dont ask how we are doing, or how we are feeling, they just ask where we are on our work. I said if you are a supervisor and this is news to you it's because you have demonstrated you aren't approachable or you have shown little or no interest in the well being of your team.

I said we don't do any kind of team building exercises and serving us junk food doesn't count as one. That junk food is linked to both moderate and severe psychological distress.

I didn't act rude the to supervisors so that they would take our concerns seriously. I said I know you care about your team or you wouldn't have been promoted to a supervisor, but we don't see it.

It was pretty sick. I went in way deeper than that. There are all these changes they are going to make now. A lot of people told me thank you and even though the work is still fucked it made all the lower level employees feel like we have each others back. A lot of people surprised me by speaking up and it ended on a positive note.

I hardly slept last night from working on it, and then my nerves kept me awake. But it turned out great. And I'm really proud of myself for doing it because I don't want to have to. I like being able to do my work and don't talk too much. But they made it unbearable, and nobody was going to do it so I did.

Damn man, congrats. Hard work and passion always pay off in some way.
[close]
Thanks man! Everyone was noticeably happier after lunch, and the supervisors were in meetings all day trying to come up with a game plan. I had my regularly scheduled meeting at the end of the day where our 2 supervisors for my group talk to you individually about how you are doing. The tone was different from the head guy who is a dumb pussy, but I give him credit for working on it. The other one is actually really cool so I had no complaints. They didn't even bring up the meeting from the morning, but I did and explained why it needed to be said. It was the first time I've left one of those meetings feeling like it was productive and felt happy. When everyone was leaving, selfishly I was thinking, damn, nobody saying thanks for sticking your neck out? Maybe it's not necessary, don't think about it. And one person came up, looked me in the eyes and gave me a very genuine thank you for what I did today. It was such an awesome feeling.

Damn, we're here talking about circus tricks on our wheelie planks, you're here taking down the pillars of corporate America. I'm keeping myself glued to this thread to check in for latest developments on the union battle. I usually don't approve of anything less than 52mm wheels, but 50mm is fine by me.
I'm back on 54's baby! Thanks for all the support pals!

old friend + coworker just hit me up asking if I was looking around at jobs as there's a product development positioning opening where he's at.. could be good things. He helped me get my current job.

I actually work in the public sector. So it's more political I would say. Not as in actual politics, but managers playing politics to get ahead.

50 youre my hero. have you heard of street fight radio?
I have not, but I looked it up.

I'm not really into politics at all because I think there is too much room for corruption and it's tiresome to me, I don't really like to classify my beliefs or whatever. It really all comes down to the fact that I don't let people give me shit unless I deserve it and I like to help others, like my co-workers who don't feel comfortable speaking up. I'm not trying to sound higher than thou but even if I bullshit on here, I'm pretty intelligent, I'm pretty level headed and try to keep it real above all else, and when necessary I don't have a problem debating someone and challenging them when it's necessary. I'm really quick when it comes to that kind of stuff and know how to back up a point. If I have a complaint at work that I actually bring up, there's not a doubt in my mind that it's legit.

One of my co-workers was ahead of me in the drive thru this morning before work, and when I pulled up to pay they told me she paid for it. That was a pretty cool feeling to start my day, and today the whole tone at work had changed. Everyone was in a really good mood. It was really cool.

I found a sucker that's willing to move in to my apartment. I was really cutting it close to the deadline. Nice to know I wont be getting evicted. That is, if I'm able to put together some goddamn rent money. I'm back at work so I should be able to do it.
Before you say the music sucked, have you considered shutting the fuck up?

I got this E-mail from the ex-today and it brightened my entire day (I was feeling a little down until I got this from her):

"The landlord brought your sex toys and porn dvd’s to [my work] today. she left them with me. would you like me to drop them off at [your work]?"

When I was moving my shit out of our apt, I double bagged our toys and my porn and then tossed it in the garbage. The landlord went through the trash, picked this shit out, and then transported it to the ex's job and gave it to her. I can only imagine how pissed off and embarrassed the ex must have been to have our born again landlord hand her this shit at work.

I couldn't have asked for a better E-mail from the ex-today. It is a small win, but holy shit the absurdity of the whole situation is beyond amazing.

I think it was like 2 minutes to get undressed because of my dance

Then maybe 1 minute to put my crocs on

Then 2 minutes of intense sweating

I didn’t even include the 3 minutes of laying on the ground afterwards  8)

Shit is wild. Going to get some kind of pizza here soon, maybe spinach and mushroom? Anyway, so far today is a good day, feeling good.

^On the topic of restaurants expanding their menus; I'm stoked that more places are offering vegetarian/vegan options now. Makes eating while traveling just a little easier. Although, I'll always prefer cooking for my wife and I.

Got 3 hours of skating in this week with 2 more with saturday and sunday. I took an hour after work to go and just skate and I am so stoked for this. I am getting active and I am progressing. I learned a couple things this week. I am working on my nollies as well as my 5050's, Did a tail slide yester day and got a basic feeling for those and working on it.

I was skating from 2pm to 6pm 4 hour sesh. Got a nice ollie bump off a curb and a wall ride. Hung out with one of my best friends , We met up at a donut shop in town, I bought him a donut and myself one with a cup of coffee. He is kinda broke, so we were about to head out and this dude that was in there earlier gives him $15 and said to pass on the favor. We went on with our day and met up with another friend and checked out a train museum, she went home so we head to an antique shops, I bought a couple pins and we headed out. This guy called us back and he asked if I wanted a record. I was in shock. I said yeah and got a free sugar hill gang record. Leap year's seem to make people friendly.
