lol guess I should've posted in unpopular, but me and my group were more into the fresh baggy rapper look back then over the weed steez, that's my middle school nostalgia.

I’d take a pair of boardflips over a pair of grasshoppers any day of the week.

I never really paid much attention to Globe, so not sure about this, but did Globe ripoff the DVS Getz shoe back in the day or vice versa??

*edit: assuming this a retro model

@Gray Imp Sausage Metal sent me a message that these just dropped at a shop in Tokyo...

What in the trustafarian, open-carrying bolt-gun, low-slung belt, chalk-bagger having climber fever-dream are those crimes against nature?

The entire line viscerally affects me the same way D3's did when they originally dropped and when they triggered similar PTSD upon re-release. I wanted and want to use bleach on my mind's eye. We're talking levels of nausea/secondhand embarrassment not personally experienced since the Homer/Pontiac Aztec/cybertruck.

Just because one can, doesn't mean one should...but if they're going to unleash such Alia Atreides level abominations upon us, they should at least go all-in and release a tie-dyed colorway.

Honestly though if they're your thing, more power to you, speed climbers.

absolutely scathing
but i can visualize it now
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

I'd rather wear those village pm joints than the globe potatos (or any puffy 90ies shoe). Curious how they would look on foot

Honestly they are just a bit too puffy for me, but they look good. Rodney was rocking huge models in the puffy shoes era. Maybe if I see them in real life I definitely would buy them (on sale).

i already rip laces too often and that's why i like last resorts the lace width is narrow so the grip never really touches the laces

these look like i'd rip the laces in the first session

I’m literally wearing the Sunset colorway of this shoe right now. It is the Li Ning Ellington. Best shoe in my opinion.

I would have tried those out if they ever seemed available in the US.   My shop had a random colorway that was a little loud for me

Yeah they always looked really cool to me but I never saw anyone carry them. I like the design of most of those shoes, it's a shame they never really went anywhere in the skate market

I Bought mine in the US, I have the Bruce Lee and the Sunset colorways. I think I got them online through Black sheep or KCDC. I’m considering getting more pairs next time I go to Shanghai on a Container Ship for work, which might be in the next month or two.

I wanted to stock up on those when they were going to do the monochromatic release, but those just got quietly dumped on SSENSE when the skate program closed down and I missed out.

Jerry skates a variety of shoes like a regular person. You’d think he’d be more picky being one of the more technical pros of his era.

Jerry is one of those people who is so talented that their skill seemingly allows them to transcend being picky (vs. forcing them to be picky).
