Some kid just bought two of my boards from the shop, and I found this photo in my facebook news feed

so psyched!

and also, Karl Watson, I don't know if you're listening or not, but your board shipped today!
Keep an eye out for a UPS delivery dude with a pretty janky, tape covered box with cabinet drawings on it.

and some product shots (repeats of the stuff I've already posted here, so if you are sick of my stuff by now, skip this one.)

Contour line drawings and then a little painting of My cat, my friends cat, and the neighborhood stray that hangs around our apartment complex.

And the Tribute Board I made to sell at an auction for an old friend/acquaintance that has recently fallen into some medical troubles.

All of those coffee fetching carpet cruisers turned out super good! I especially liked the stuck news paper effect, I looked at the picture first and thought it looked cool and then scrolled down and saw that it wasn't intentional :)
take what small comfort there may be left

thanks Burm
I think I'm making one more run of 5 carpet cruisers and then getting out of the carpet gripping game. too many people bitin' my shit, and I didn't mean to start a trend with it.
Got a bunch of ideas for the rest of the decks I have left too.
Anybody else come up with anything new of their own lately?

will get something up. my son really likes this one (those are his hands coming to knock it over), youve got to watch where feet are and not stand to much in the middle but outherwise actually pretty fun. no wheel bite

Got started on those cruisers I'm working on for Identity and Orchard
here's the initial sketch work I'm starting with

^this ones for Orchard. I'm still undecided on what medium I'm going to use for the final piece, but the original art it's based off of is this old lino print with tons of hatching details and stuff, so this outline is super simplified compared to how its actually gonna look.
carpetgrip on top is gonna be 2 tone, with 1 of those tones being a bird silhouette.

^and this is the one for Identity (Portsmouth NH, not the giant super chain shops out west). pretty sure I'm gonna make this one a woodburning piece, and a "buoy" like striping pattern above and below the ship image, then aged and tarnished, and then the whole thing overlayed with some stain. Can't wait to do the carpetgrip on top too, gonna try to get real fancy compared to my past block/stripe styled ones in the past.

Update on the Identity cruiser

Still have some "weathering" to the stripes to do, and then finding a stain that won't hide the woodburned ship detail too much, but go on top of the whole graphic to further dull the color pop.
and then I'll be on to cutting out an anchor from carpet and getting this thing gripped.

well I don't know how the whole international thing works with buying stuff online,
but I have plans to set up some kind of online store at some point soon (hopefully by 2012)
I just need to get paypal figured out and build up enough stock to make it worth while and not launch it before I'm ready.

But thanks for all the encouragement guys!
Without the platform of Slap, I don't think I'd have half the motivation I do with this on-going project.
I wish more people would post their stuff on this thread though. Sometimes it feels like a room full of mirrors.

not mine. I think you have my quoting spike hawke's post confused.

That playing card graphic is super sick though man.

Update: just stayed up all night to finish the woodburning details on this little fellah

Was originally gonna use black paint for the ribbon on the hat and the boots, but the only can of spray I had left ran out before i could make use of it, so I took a gamble and used Navy instead (even though in the picture the boots look black). Yet another happy accident.
All that hatching and cross hatching took roughly 3 1/2 hours straight. My back and wrist are killing me.

Newest idea: two part/deck series

Cy and Paul, Whooping it Up
Idea came from staring at my beer wall (I've been collecting the side panels of premium and small batch beers for the past 4 years, and use them as a boarder on the walls in my living room and kitchen cause I like the art on them.)
Thanks SmuttyNose!

Can you post a pic of that?  Do you mean from a six pack box or what?  Sounds like a cool idea i'll never do, but would like to see what it looks like.  Thanks.
I'm posting from my blackberry wtf?!?!?

Sure, but its gonna be a doozy. i just counted with one of those click counters, and I have 143 up on my walls currently, and 15 more sitting on top of the refrigerator cause I ran out of ceiling boarder space in my apartment.
Heres the ones in my kitchen (use right click/control click and hit view image so you can see the whole thing easier than on this post)

and heres the living room (again, view image. thing is fucking long.)

And heres the board I'm working on! im gonna distress the white paint on the board in a little bit, and then use these T-shirt Iron on print-outs of my old buddy CN (who's an occasional Slap'ite) centered up. I'm thinking then after that, I'm going to do some details along the boarder, and it should be a done deal. I decided I'd organize all the supplies I'm using to make it in a more appealing way.

Update: The transfers didn't work this time around. I've gotten them to work in the past, but I think this time around I was either using too much heat, or not enough, or not for long enough.
anyways, it still looks like a cool textural thing on the deck. Time to re-tool this one.
