Another attempt at the Tim Gavin canoe graphic, circa '94. This one is a better scale and the colors are closer to the original release:

Started a new one today, Chapman wood for hella cheaps hit them up if you're thinking about making your own board. The 14" wheelbase was already drilled. 32" length, 9.25 width, 7" tail, 7.5 nose. Any reccomendations for graphics theme?

Well that one skates so well and ended up my main squeeze even though I havent gone out and you know, done a manual and bombed a hill with it, but I fell in love with it for grinds and flat so It's become my main board from here on and I decided since I got some Indy 215's that I'll do an even larger one (last one was 9.25 on Chapman wood, which I really like) so here's this so far with its widest point being over 11 inches.

Oh I don't remember an exact number I just went to the site and hit em up all "Can you send me an uncut blank?" and it shipped from one state over so I can't really be too unhappy at all. The Skatepaige wood from Arkansas looks promising though. Hard to get used to balancing manuals with these wide ass setups though!

Well guys, i just bought a new board but i hate the graphic. Do you think i can cover it with spray paint or do i need to sand it down?

I've sanded and sprayed my last couple boards and it's easier if you give it a good sand first

on the topic of spraying, anyone use one of those spraycan handles, thinking of getting one through work just so i can have a bit more control and stopping the orange peel effect i've been getting on some

It came out like this. The top ply is red so i made a little joke with the superstition thing and sketched a rabbit foot with a Bic pen. In the end i sprayed with some hair spray to hold the drawing and it made like a dye effect which i really like.

Sk.A.T.A.N., that board came out really nice. +1

is sanding the best method in removing a graphic? i know i've heard of nail polish remover and paint thinner too.

and after i paint it, what is the best top coat to use?

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Smokecrack, like i've said i was lazy and rushed the process. I went with just a graffiti can and straight pen on it. I didnt sand the graphic or cover it with any top coat. But my main goal was just hide the old graphic. I dont know how it will hold up tho. For a legit graphic paint i would use a sandpaper, paint it and then a top coat. Paint thinner or nail polish remove sounds sketchy because i guess the glue between the wood plys would melt if you use too much no?

I've used goof-off graffiti remover to strip decks with no ill effects. I wouldn't let it soak in the crap, but a quick spray and a wipe is all it really takes for heat transfers.
Way faster than sanding.

So I got my hands on some USA 8.75 samples. What to do with a blank board?
Paint it!

I airbrushed it to get the transparent effect.

If a deck is stained wood with a minimal graphic, can i remove the paint/clear coat without damaging the colored stain?

Base board is a Girl 8.0 that I hated the graphic on
Went with a theme on local businesses, and a local soda that I may as well live on
came out alright, i think?

Acquired a big stamp, so I promptly tried to print boards with it.
