Really enjoying Florida Man on Netflix. Whole lotta fun
[close]

Yeah Netflix dropped some goodies this month...also watched that boston marathon and waco doc, shit was good, I like these styles of mini 3part docs.
[close]

There’s a Waco show coming soon on Paramount plus with Michael Shannon
[close]

Heavens Gate show would fit Paramount + also

They had a new doc when it was an anniversary year on Netflix, but their story doesn’t really suit a movie/tv show as there was no dramatic showdown or courtroom battle.   They’re more of a documentary cult

sorry was a shitty joke given all the star trek revamps on paramount +, also was known that the Heavens gate people were heavily influenced by Star Trek TNG and decided to make uniforms and rank to reflect the show, they could probably pull the show off while showing episodes of their franchise

Not to mention Uhura’s brother(?) was one of their members.

I'm pretty hyped about Season 3 of I Think You Should Leave dropping on May 30th. Still a ways off but I'm excited now that I know.

Is Beef watchable if you despise Ali Wong?

I would say so. She comes across differently in the show than with her stand ups. It is definitely worth a watch regardless of your feelings towards her. The show is as funny as it is beautiful and tragic. Steven Yeun's performance alone will make the experience worth it.

Yeah, I watched every episode last night and loved it. Pretty relatable too sadly lol. I got bad road rage and things quickly spiral out of control.

Joining the choir on Beef, just finished it.  First couple eps I was like okay, pretty exciting but hope it doesn’t just turn into another show about new-age shitty people who cheat on each other.. I can’t even believe how much deeper and well-written it got from there.  I really did a 180 on how I felt about most characters over the course of the show.  If there isn’t another season I’d be satisfied with the ending, but they really set it up well to keep it going.

Not saying you’re wrong, but I don’t remember there being space for a new season.   Everything seemed pretty wrapped up - but it’s also been a few weeks…

Also, when do we think it’s fair to life the Beef Spoiler embargo?

I guess it depends if you can make it through a show where she’s on screen 50% of the time of 5 hours of show or not.
[close]

I've never seen anything with her in it, watched it mainly for Steven Yeun, dude kill it in movies post walking dead...but I had no context for her other than  her netflix special, and she's an amazing drama actress...she kills in this show and it surprised me as i thought she was all comedy

As annoying as her vibe is on stage, she will always get a pass from me after hearing this bit about fucking skaters. Sexy on the outside? I’ll take it.

Just write "BEEF SPOILERS"  at the top of your post and should be enough for anyone who doesn't want it spoiled to not read on.

Literally opened this thread up to ask if anyone had watched it yet

DR is maybe my favorite Cronenberg movie, so I'm kinda curious to watch it, but also pretty wary for the same reason

Haven’t read the last few pages of this thread, so sorry if this was already posted.
Cabinet of Curiosities is pretty rad so far, I’m in the middle of ep 3.
Anthology series exec. produced by Guillermo del Toro.
Kinda like a horror version of The Twilight Zone.

Haven't watched all the episodes yet, but I really liked the one about that lady who works at a bank & gets obsessed with that body transformation lotion. Think it's episode 4 actually, so you'll see it soon.

Right?!   I misunderstood the concept before I started watching (thought it was a sitcom) but really enjoyed it and thought it stuck the landing.   (Freevee exists inside of Prime for anyone unaware)

Yeah for sure!  It’s so damn entertaining and impressive.  Great writing and sort of amazing performances.  It’s like long form improv meets Truman Show or Joe Schmo Show meets the Office haha.  Pretty incredible but odd and unique.  Ultimately extremely pleasing.  A rare show I could and would recommend to everyone.

Alright forgive me for this tangent, but I also finished BCS last night and have to go off just a bit.. Hot take… but I felt the last season and ending were pretty boring and underwhelming.  My partner and I got a little heated because she thought it was great and meaningful and tied everything up nicely.  I disliked it for the same reasons.

So after 6 seasons of Saul being a POS, he finally gets caught and has this grand revelation and saves the girl?  It’s just a little too perfect and corny imo.  Also, season 4 and 5 were absolute barn burners, super intense.  That’s why I watched the show.  Season 6 had it’s moments for sure, but it was like 90% people just walking, standing, sitting in silence pondering.

It was great if you were seeking closure, and were watching it for the sake of character development.  If you were watching it because you enjoy gritty, fast-paced crime dramas, which BCS teases you with sporadically, then season 6 was a disappointment.  Then again, I should’ve picked up on that when the majority of the series’ beginning was about his narcissistic mentally ill brother.  Breaking Bad was the same though, way too drawn out at times and way too much filler that doesn’t really contribute much to the plot.

Im with your partner…my second time binging BCS and an amazing ender for me.   Everything leading up to the howard incident was excellent.  The nacho chase with the salamanca cousins was dope.  The lalo ending a little underwhelming but still liked the lead up.   Sauls demise being the ice cream request was hilarious.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

I was upset over Lalo’s ending (mainly because it felt anticlimactic), but Howard Hamlin that was just down right dirty… i mean i guess i get it but still. the final season dragged on a bit similar to the final season of breaking bad where i was just like, “end it already”.

I thought the courtroom ending was bittersweet. Kind of all leading up to a Saul turning babyface over heel. i still kind of thought he was gonna throw Kim under the bus for a second tho..

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but think i enjoyed BCS more than breaking bad. Had much more humor.
