That skatewarehouse code seems to work on sale items too

Damn... I could get some Bones STF for about $20. Not bad at all. And a Hopps deck for about 40?

I'm really thinking about those two right now...

V5 is the shape!
[close]

Bones wheels tend to be super narrow so I either go with V4 or V6 typically. V5 definitely seems nice though if you're into skinny wheels. Basically a Conical Slim.

Do you have any experience with their 99a wheels? I LOVE their 103a for smooth ground because of how slidey they are. Are their 99a worth taking a chance on or no?
V4 is basically a Radial just so you know

The 99a are if you really like a softer smoother whee that can still slide

The classic stf is still a goto if you want a stickier f4 competitor

I have the 99 v5 s set up on a board now I like them. Comparable to 99a spits. I think bones 99a slide a little more than spitfires though personally. Like break into powerslides and slide on ledges a bit easier than spits. I really want to try some v6.

Weird, because V5 was their widest/fuller wheel for a whole until V4 Wides and V6s dropped. I don't think V5s are considered skinny wheels, tbh. Only if you compare them to a Conical Full maybe.

Either way, I may cop some STFs...

Its true, but Bones tend to have narrower wheel width and contact patch than Spitfire. At 54mm the Spitfire Classics (by far their skinniest wheel) have the same contact patch as V4 Wides and about the same overall width as well. The Classics are are actually wider than V5 Sidecut in both dimensions.

V5 Sidecuts would be "slim" in the realm of Spitfire. V6 Wide Sidecuts are the width of Conical Fulls with the contact patch of Conicals. V5 Sidecuts are the width of Conicals, with 15mm contact patch instead of 20mm.

Anyways...

I ended up grabbing some STF 103a V4 54mm, and some STF 99a V5 55m. $21 STFs is a pretty awesome deal.

It will be neat to finally try out STF 99a after all of the inconsistent stuff I've heard on Slap. I have no idea what to expect, but I will report back.

And look at these things: https://img.skatewarehouse.com/watermark/rs.php?path=BSMAPWH-WH-1.jpg&nw=435

Pretty sick.

Somebody got a new colorway of Tiagos for $35

But it's still fuck Active. I usually don't gripe about online retail much since I use it all the time but Active went out of business owing money to the vendors TWICE, most recently in 2020 (before Covid.) Some venture capital creeps swooped up the IP right away and tried again but like how many tries are they gonna get?

EVO is legit. If you sort their shop by "Sale" and "Outlet", you'll almost always find some incredible deals, and their shop decks are (or were, as of summer last year) BBS.

A lot of stuff is "In Store Only", though, which can be a real bummer.

Bones V5 are nowhere near a conical slim...for that you need to look at Ricta.
