I pulled the trigger on some primitive decks ($26 a pop, with 8.38 and a 14” wheelbase I tried but could not resist)
Please tell me the pro decks are still BBS, I hope I didn’t fuck myself

The team and mystery decks are made in China. Supposedly still pretty good decks. Their pro models are BBS.

But this isn’t necessarily the case. I have a stack of Primitive pro decks which were made in China and they’re all really good.
[close]

Interesting. I myself actually prefer some of the Chinese shops to BBS if I’m honest.
[close]

Yeah I have enjoyed many Dwindle R7 decks in the past, and the stack of cheap Chinese Primitive decks I bought on a whim turned out to be my favorite decks I’ve skated in recent memory. I could find no fault with them, they never pressure cracked (got cracks all over my new Hockey deck), and I only got rid of them when they were razor-tailed enough that I wanted a new one.
[close]

yeah those r7 decks are no joke, i hated the shape of the one i had but it stayed stiff and kept its pop twice as long as any bbs ive ever skated. it took a freakishly unbelievable amount of time for the tail to wear down and i do alot of popping

They can border on too stiff, but I skated one of those immediately after a Clutch deck and it was like the whole world was fresh again.

Sale trucks sorted low to high. Some crazy good deals on legit trucks.

Almost went to buy that ventures till I realized it’s only 1. I’m usually messing up baseplates from noseslides so it’s tempting but it’d feel weird to just buy one truck

25% off sitewide at Thank You Supply. Might be some good deals but they list the boards pretty high so even after the discount it’s not a crazy deal.

.

You never know when a single hanger or baseplate might come in handy though.

When they are stupidly cheap, it is not a bad idea to get the remaining truck to use as parts if needed.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

$40 Hours Is Yours shoes on some of em. Shipping is $15 for UPS ground but still a decent price when they're $80 usually. I bought the c71's yesterday at my local and skated them all day and even though I've been used to the better support of those KSL G6 cups, they still feel pretty good and seem quality.

Union (Jordan) is good people, he does mail runs on a weekly basis and he's running the shop solo, so cut him some slack.

I really wanna skate hours shoes but the soles tread pattern seems like it will go bald. But I’ve never seen them in real life. Will you update us later? Idk if anyone’s reviews hours on here but they look good the sole is my only concern. I had some states and the sole on the cups the tread was nonexistent and I worry about that.

Day 2 of skating them im not a flipper or a tech skater by any means just transition and curbs, if I'm popping it's just to ollie or disaster or something. They feel normal level grippy no slip. I heel brake a lot and vans are the worst at going bald back there immediately. These show no wear from it so far. I think it's fine man, scoop em since they're on sale not much to lose.

Was supposed to get my $24 Girl HUF board yesterday, but FedEx damaged the package and now it can’t be delivered. Boards are gone from the HUF site too, it was too good a deal to be true.

Not really a sale but…

https://dlxskateshop.com/

I thought Jim pulled the online shop years ago. I remember a statement about not competing with retailers/ selling direct.

In any case I bought a shirt and several sheets of $5 grip with $5 flat rate shipping.

Did I hear that the DLX Skateshop is a separate entity?  They do have their own bricks and mortar shop too.  From looking through the inventory also have other stuff not from DLX, such as shoes, clothing, all brands that their team riders are spono by or are in the local area by the look of it, so not quite just an online outlet just for the DLX product, in the way that someone like NHS has everything they sell in their own online store.

Not a worry either way, but I get what you are saying too - not undercutting shops by selling straight to consumer from their warehouse, type of thing.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

The dudes that owned Atlas bought the shop and are running it now which is why the site is redone and the brick and mortar store is fully operational. Not owned by DLX distribution. Just a skate shop in the city with the same name.

I'm bummed for you, is there anyway you can reach out to your local FedEx hub?

Got my $35 PacSun Fastbreak Pros. They’re super comfy out the box. Fit almost like the 440H. The insole is one of the better ones I’ve seen on a skate shoe. None of that super thin shit.

Still gotta see how they skate, but so far so good 😊

I talked to FedEx yesterday and they said I had to reach out to HUF. HUF responded super quick and already sent a refund but that’s all they can do. Gonna go spend $70 on a board now, but at least it’ll be going to the skateshop.

Not sure if anyone cares but Axion posted on their IG story about a $20 shoe sale this weekend. July 15th and 16th. I’ve never owned a pair and probably never will but def have some nostalgia from watching Reem, Gino, and BA skate then back in the day.

Good call. I remember reading comments about sizing and shipping issues when they first started dropping shoes again.
