I really enjoyed this. I have a bit of a soft spot for grind. I guess like D-Beat and Crust, it's a bit of an intimidating genre to get into. I tend to enjoy the stuff in those subgenres that are closest with hardcore (usually every band's earliest stuff). Gonna listen to Repulsion's Slaughter of the Innocent, Napalm Death's Scum, Terrorizer's World Downfall... And then watch Insect Warfare live videos for the craic.

@Grind King Rims hold the fuck up, we’re you both in Vaccine??

I think I got to see vaccine twice, did you guys play with punch on one show and with hatred surge at another?

I might be fucking that all up, but I’m not sure

hahahaha no worries homie, appreciate the love :)
All the music has been done for quite some time and we've recorded vocals for three or four tracks but then covid fudged everything up. Hopefully we can finish it by the end of this year.

We played with Punch a few different times/in various places for sure, and played with Hatred Surge in Bakersfield at Munoz Gym I believe. Shoutout Neutron Ron big time.

Yeah that bootlicker LP is whopper. Also looking forward to hearing the new ex-Total Abuse band, discreet.

Also, this youtube channel is very good. A lot of great stuff.

probably watched this shit a dozen times now, but i love everything this band does. plus the last track is a fucking ripper.

also the whole art direction in this short film is sick, cinematography is great, lil skate nerd cameo's from the Carpet dudes, enjoyable shit all around.

Anyone here like Shin Guard? If so did you like their change to Hazing over? I hated it at first tbh but it’s grown on me a lot after watching the Hate5Six set.

This thread has put me on to some really good new HC stuff that I had no idea existed since I've not been paying attention to things outside of my favorite little Bay Area group, Acrylics.

Stuff like SPY, Exit Order, and Torso are my favorites right now. That Turnstile band is a lotta fun and really interesting, listened to that new single and their first album a few times in the last couple of days.

Actually played a show with Shin Guard once, was super sick. I preferred their work as Shin Guard as opposed to Hazing Over. Hazing Over is dope, but is not my cup of tea.

The For Your Health/Shin Guard split certified rips tho.

He’s some new(ish) shit I’ve been enjoying lately. That last band, LEDGE, formed from the ashes of weekend nachos and they’re easily one of my new favorites. I’ve posted them before but if you haven’t listened to them yet, I’m begging you to check it out.

Wooow. I love TS but I’ll be honest I was expecting to be like “yup that’s Turnstile” but I can’t stop re watching. This is like some Frank Ocean HxC lmao fucking sick. Also whoever mentioned Weekend Nachos and Ledge I love you :) WN got me into Hardcore and I’d do anything to see them play again one day.

Shouts to you @elbarto

Easily one of the most fun bands I’ve ever seen. I’d do just about anything to do the “Jack Skellington” across the stage while dog torture played.

When did you get to see them? I first saw them in 2007 I believe. I remember it was right around the time punish and destroy came out, which I still listen to A LOT. Some of the nicest dudes and the most fun shows I’ve ever been too.

I’m gonna post some of my favorite side projects of theirs, which still hold up as fantastic records, regardless of their connection to weekend nachos.

This is for those unaware of what the “Jack Skellington” is. Be sure to do it at the next show you go to.

Also including this harms way ep because it fucking RIPS.

i recall posting the slug demo a few weeks back, but wanted to share some more of the sick ohio bands that delayed gratification records is putting on. they've got a showcase happening at the end of july with all the aforementioned bands, im too hyped to make the trip up to cleveland and throw down.

Hell yeah, Speed rips

@Freelancevagrant great suggestions as always, especially Ledge, I'm an instant fan!

I just went to my first show back last Thursday, went and saw Fixation, Raw Brigade, Life's Question, End It, and Queensway up in Baltimore. So much fun, I had missed that energy so much. Only got in the mix during End It because A: I love them and B: I'm 32 and very out of shape but holy shit what a good time. Met one of the guitarists from Turnstile and the vocalist from Shackled just hanging out catching the show, they were both super cool.
Look I'm not selling anything that doesn't have my jizz on it. I don't care how much is offered.

Speed is super sick, love the energy! Their singer also plays guitar in this Shoegazy Rock band, Endless Heights, which I'm a big fan of:

RJC is the shit, one of the best records this year for sure! I’m kinda partial to Ian Shelton’s other project tho, Militarie Gun, thought their EP this year was stellar.

Life's Question was tight, went and bought a hat right after their set and I've worn it every day since lol. I always mix up Militarie Gun and Slow Fire Pistol in my head because I'm dumb. RJC is sick though.

@whitemanjazz next time Raw Brigade is anywhere near you definitely go see them. They're so good live. Plus the singer was moshing for every other band on the bill.
