@Freelancevagrant That is (one of) my favorite NP tracks. They used to play pretty much every other show in my hometown, regardless of the lineup. I get psyched when I see people still appreciating them and JFFB.
Also psyched to hear you are going to get back to making music...do post when it is done.
Their side of the split with a days refrain we’re the first three tracks I heard by them and was absolutely blown away. Ive introduced them to a few homies and will always recommend listening to that split first. It is literally like the best intro into Neil Perry: Sorry for this misunderstanding, fading away like the rest of them, and looking back at the way you want to be.
I am just green with jealous rage you got to see jffb and neil perry. I realized like ten years ago that I will love Josh Jakubowski is in. Because I fucking adore hot cross too.
Here’s the only line up photo we ever took. A bunch of nerds post show in a Taco Bell parking lot, but prominently displayed are both my bootlegged jffb hoodie and our guitarists bootlegged Kodan Armada hoodie.
I’m always self conscious about sharing, but since you asked I will absolutely do so.
Also and to not derail the thread, here is hot cross’ first full length, cryonics.

Hell yeah. I love all JFFB obvs but for me the two frontman era (with Joe doing Vox along with Larry) is the best.

I never had any shirts or anything from either band, but I remember when Welcome the Plague Year played their first show (with Envy from Japan and I think Malady) I was like "Yo, I'm going to buy so much of their merch!!!" and brought like $50, which I proceeded to lose pretty much as soon as I got to the show. Every time I saw them after that, they weren't selling shirts or anything. I think at one point I managed to snag a patch, though.
God damn it, that is an absolutely brutal story. I’ve had similar shit happen to me, but it was only like $20 and was at a comadre/graf orlock show.
From someone who missed seeing them by like 3-4 years, the two singer era looks like it had the best shows. Essentially since Youtube came out I’ve spent so many hours on watching shows and wishing for that way back machine.
I still do it literally all the time. Just trying to get paid for being a freelance screamo historian.
Also, if y’all want me to fuck off and just start a screamo thread I gladly will! I’m not trying to be annoying as hell and spam y’all with what I know isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
These are a few good ones that I realllllly wish I got to see.
Here’s two singer era jffb in Newark, Delaware circa 99.
https://youtu.be/RjoCSlfJK5EHere’s pageninetynine playing by the fireplace in white in a skatepark in ct, 2000. In the crowd you can see Jeff and Eric from jeromes dream, the dudes from love lost but not forgotten, and the dudes from breed/extinction. Been obsessed with this one for like 10 years.
