Must be soon, a couple of my local shops had them in the online store for about 24 hours then took them down. I'm assuming NB forgot to tell retailers not to release them until x date, locally NB Numeric is not handled well in my experience.

Apparently they're already released in Denmark? Click the link for some more pics and info
https://www.lobby-skateshop.de/produkt/new-balance-numeric-508-westgate-white-grey/

The 508 wasn't a hard launch so we just are letting shops put them up when they get them.  There's a MASSIVE port issue here in SoCal/Long Beach so our US delivery of this shoe is going to be affected.  There are container ships that are waiting to be offloaded that stretch all the way down the coast 20 miles.  It's not just us, it's every industry affected, but it does suck when you're trying to launch a shoe and have to wait.

Anyone who has skated both the 440s and the 1010s able to comment on how much puffier the latter is?

i think they look puffier in photos, on foot they feel really good and keep their shape longer than 440s. the 440 is still my go to but if you want to try something different i would highly recommend 1010s.

on another note, i noticed the 1010s in leather took a long time to break in, and hurt my feet a bit until i got them skate ready. suede ones are good to go right out of the box.

I would swim those 20 miles if I were on Long Beach. Sadly the swimming from down here is waaaaaaaay more

The 1010’s definitely feel more padded on the inside, the 440 hi is relatively slim on the inside with minimal padding. I’d say the main difference to note would be that the 1010s have a thicker sole and slightly more cushioned insole. Both are great shoes IMO. Been skating the 440s a lot but I want to take the 1010s back out.

That Tiago colorway is dope! I’m skating a pair of the all blacks right now and really liking them.

I have only skated 868’s for the past 3 years and while I still prefer them to the 1010’s I have to admit I like grip/tread of the 1010’s better.

I’ll be back to my stash of 868’s after these but I’m stoked there’s a solid replacement when I deplete them all (though that will probably be 2 years from now).

So today I tried on a pair of the new 508. Here are my observations.

I would say they fit TTS, I'm a 10 in nike sb, 9.5 in vans, my last ten skate shoes were dc legacy slims in size 10, which fit very snug. I tried on a 10 in these and they had a little more room in the toe, but not so much that I'd want to go down a half size. Slightly larger than my air trainers and anti hero dunk highs, but not much.

The padding is thin, on the tongue and around the ankle, but not too thin.

There's minimal impact cushioning. A thin removable insole and what appears to be no midsole. I would probably recommend an after market insole if you have old feet like me, or if you have an old pair of the Foy 306, chuck that insole in there. On the plus side, this means they're quite flexible out of the box and would probably break in super fast.

There are elastic tongue stabilisers.

My feet are wide at the toes, and they weren't too narrow for me.

Apart from the thin sole (which can be easily remedied), my main gripe was that my ankle /heel didn't feel secure. This is the same gripe I've had with the Adidas 3st.004, the najera, campus adv, and the tyshawn, though the campus adv and najera shoe were also too narrow in the forefoot, which isn't the case here. If you don't have that problem with those shoes, you won't with this.

In summary, I'm going to skip them because my ankles are too fragile for the poor heel lock, and the slimmer look doesn't suit my aesthetic, so I wouldn't even use them as chillers. Pity, i did like the look of them in the pics above.
I'm going to wait for the next colours of the 1010 to drop, they fit me perfectly in size 10, with good heel lock and suit my aesthetic.

I think supposed to have been out already but delayed with the shipping associated with COVID. I would guess next early next month they drop.

Whenever I worked in Carlisle I would have my head on a swivel looking at bicyclists on the off chance it was Steven Wright. Now that I work in Gloucester and skate up that way sometimes, I will now not be able to function there either knowing there’s some possibility of seeing Gonzarelli. Thank you and I’ll be trying 508s

These are rad looking. I guess I’m a full NB convert now. Between the 440hi and the 1010s. Idk why the low top 440s fit way tighter in the toe box though.

do the 440hi's have the same inner ankle cushioning that the 440lows do? i can't handle shoes that have that which has kept me off the 440 thus far but i might cop a pair if they don't.
