I'm always overly concerned about people's eye for detail here once the shoe comparisons start. How do get a Lynx from looking at the Reynolds? It's just that tiny piece on the front of the toe that's similar
[close]

Thickness of the sole, and the shape of the sole/shoe. Upper isn’t similar, but the foundation of the shoe is.
[close]

The shape is similar in that they're both shoes. DCs are just so clunky and boxy in general but especially the Lynx. The 933s just look like a simplified version of classic NB dad runners which I assume is exactly what they were going for.

The Lynx was a big design inspiration for the 933. Not only did Drew mention it in interviews, he literally sat holding a dissected Lynx shoe in photos of said interview.

Did anyone end up recording the Reynolds/ Jeff mikut talk from that show?

Still a couple of weeks away.  Slow Impact is Feb. 21-23 in Az.

Anyone going to talk about the move in apparel/soft goods?  Curious about move in terms of how the company planned on that next step of the program and why it took until now to give it a shot
[close]

Maybe they didn't see the demand for a numeric branded apparel line. Or some conflicting interests with clothing sponsors? If you ride for New Balance Numeric, can you also ride for Huf for example? I don't know how that all works. And the numeric apparel seems to be a bit more specific for skateboarding, stretchy pants and all that. And that the clothing line has the # after the NB branding which is cool but also not that much of a difference. Did anyone already got some Numeric apparel in hands? Should be the same quality as the regular NB line, right?
Escapist got it in. Not super familiar with regular NB apparel, but the Numeric stuff feels like it’s well made

This one? https://www.villagepsychic.net/blog/andrew-reynolds-new-balance

I don't get "big design inspiration" from that but ok. Maybe it's another interview I haven't read. I just don't get the comparison at all.

the leaked images obv don't give a lot to compare it to a Lynx, but when I saw his story the other week that I screenshotted, the look down of it def screams Lynx shape/height to me, at least in the midsole. Did a side by side comp of Lynx on my foot on the left and Andrew's foot in a 933 on the right

My local got in the black/grey 480 and two things I noticed with these is that the tongue has straps on it as well as the weight of the shoe felt lighter. Hey Rothdigga!, are these to be expected going forward with the 480 model now?

A little bit of Mandela Effect here...he wasn't holding the cut Lynx, but the cut Lynx is indeed the only non-NB/non-Reynolds shoe out of the whole bunch

Goddamn I was eyeballing those but I just got a pair of 508’s in the new white/phantom color way even thought my current 440v2’s still have a lot of more left in them.

Curious how the Numeric 480’s compare to the regular line 480. I got a pair of the non-Numeric at Christmas and they are solid but the insole isn’t the greatest and I don’t think they have the tongue stability straps but could be wrong.

I picked up a crew sweatshirt from them not too long ago. I can’t speak to the quality compared to regular NB apparel, but I love what NB# put out and I’m planning on going back for more of the collection soon.

I said this super early and a ton of very reputable people on here called me dumb for it. Looks like they were just mad that nobody is taking design cues from the Club C lmfao.

This is awesome to hear, glad you like it! NB has been a footwear first company for so long, getting apparel going took some time but we think the quality is worth the wait

[close]

The Lynx was a big design inspiration for the 933. Not only did Drew mention it in interviews, he literally sat holding a dissected Lynx shoe in photos of said interview.

I said this super early and a ton of very reputable people on here called me dumb for it. Looks like they were just mad that nobody is taking design cues from the Club C lmfao.
It was more so the thickness of the sole that he was looking at from that shoe. He likes a lot of material under his foot, proving that boardfeel is just a buzzword😆😝
Get litty.....

I’ve got two shirts, a hoodie, and a hat. Amazing quality. The shirts are so damn comfortable and fit perfect after one wash.

This is awesome to hear, glad you like it! NB has been a footwear first company for so long, getting apparel going took some time but we think the quality is worth the wait

Do you and Jeff design the clothes?

Picked up what will be my fifth and last pair of 808s this afternoon, the Sea Salt suede with Black sole colorway. I will miss this shoe dearly, the 808Ls don't really appeal to me but I think I got all the best ones they did of the originals. Besides of course the Roland collab but alas in the 808 I wear the cursed 10.5 that never materialized in that shoe. I don't skate in them, I skate Cons and Vans but my collection of NB# chillers is growing large

You can't be wearing shoes like 808's and saying shit like "but alas", that's just not how things work.

Never got to try a pair of the 808’s unfortunately. Normally wear a size 13 but I tried a pair on and definitely needed to size up. Everywhere either doesn’t carry a 14 or sells out of them immediately.
