Is Vice poaching Slap for content? I just read this today:

How Skateboarders Learned to Stop Worrying and Get Comfortable in Shorts

A cardinal sin among skateboarders of a certain age, wearing shorts while skating is being accepted by a new generation.
You know I thought these forums were a for skating not discussing fetishes

Where I live summers are way too fucking hot and humid to not wear shorts, it's just necessary unless you want to die of heat exhaustion

Tim Gavin.  I wear shorts a lot b/c I live in the south, but grew up in the North East.  It only gets cold here for like six weeks.   For dog walking and errands, shorts and a sweatshirt are perfect.  Yard work is more of a t-shirt and shorts thing.

Since covid started basically worn shorts every day. Even in winter started doing shorts plus blanket.
Aus summer is getting fucking stupid now tho. I don't burn easy but now any exposed skin I can literally feel getting cooked. If only it was acceptable for a white guy to wear the white sheik robes.
Also at least 70% of shorts looking good or not comes down to the choice of socks

Agreed about socks.
Similar in NZ, it gets tropical and humid af here and there's a good five months of the year that you really don't want to wear pants or you got swamp ass just walking two blocks. Long baggy Jorts are great, take a beating and good for landing and sliding on your ass, baggier allows more airflow, longer can protect your knees if you fall onto them.
If you see offensive comments, just let it go into one eye and let it out of the other eye, no tears and not sadness or anger.

Are you in NZ? I lived there for 5 years, wife is from there. My fashion changed while I was there - I had like 3 pairs of cut off Dickies shorts that I wore almost exclusively. And depending on season, either plain tank tops (singlets) or Slayer hoodie lol.

Yeah I'm in NZ, in Auckland, right in the city. I've seen you mention your time in NZ a few times, where were you?
Singlets are key. Gonna be a lot of guys in TJ cosplay this summer.

I was in South Auckland (Manurewa)... did not notice that the spot was kinda rough until I'd been other places. I saw a lot of fights while being at stoplights right on Great South Road, right there. I only really had probably 3 issues the whole time I was there, but all 3 were in the same week, lol. I worked at Independent Liquor in Papakura (believe its Asahi liquor now?) the whole time I was there. Wife is half Maori - Paparoa Marae. She's from the Tauranga area, which is an awesome spot. I spent a lot of time / money at Boardertown in Auckland and Hyper ride and at Real Groovy (when it was further down Queen street!). I skated Victoria park, the old version not the updated one (I think that happened right before I moved back? So 2012 or 2013), while my wife would hang out at the Victoria Park Market (old version - before all the cafes). I skated that Manukau skate park a lot at first. I had some pals in Ramarama, Drury & Pukekohe. Oh and Clevedon (cool township). Then I had some other friends up in Ellerslie, Penrose and Mt. Eden. And one that lived in North Shore spot. I had one skater friend but we worked opposite shifts so that never really got anywhere.

Right before Covid we were over there - her cousins have a farm near Hobbiton, so did some farming/4 wheeling and then peeped that. Did a whole road trip to/through the South Island. Queenstown is sick! I could be wrong but I felt like south island "vibes" were different than North? Great/ massive scenery. Didn't skate on the trip which is dumb in hindsight. Oh yeah the last "gnarly" thing I ever did on a skateboard was 2009 in Onehunga... I bombed some hills in the dark on streets I'd never skated on before. I was a bit drunk I think, but that was the last tough thing I ever did on a board (I was 33 and all the injuries started getting me that year).

I live at the corner of south americas east coast (atlantic). Sunny all year, humid but it has a lot of wind, our "winter" is a 3 month rainy period. Around 30 celsius when hot. Perfect weather. The most cold it gets is when you sleep with open window and no vent. Shorts is a major. But I always skate with jeans, somehow I feel more protected haha

Shorts are ok as long as person don't wear with black socks. You already wearing short pants. Those black socks don’t make it look classier or more grown up. Looks like you go to private school and are changed for gym class with them black socks.

I'm moving to Barca from a cold climate and I need a few sets of shorts. I just can't pull the trigger on anything cos I'm afraid they will look whack on me.

Does anyone have recommendations?
