this is a bit of a weird bump, but i think this got taken off private today, because it just showed up in my recommendations. i know people have wanted it for a while.

his death FUCKED ME UP.  made me think of my own mortality and the effect 1 person can have on the world/your world.  still so heartbreaking.  he's made me appreciate my life more and for that, I thank him.

Wow, that was powerful.  With that being so professionally filmed and edited, I’d imagine there has to be videos of other performances/tributes from that night.  Heard rumors of a montage that was shown too, was that ever released?

I think he did skate. Todd Baechle from the band the faint was a sponsored skater who not only played music with Conor growing up he also skated and grew up with Steve Berra. Plus Berra used the faints music in dvs skate more part.

Does anyone know if dylan was sick during any of his footy? I dont know what leukemia is like but id imagine there was a point where he skated and maybe didnt know he was sick.

Tomorrow is the 4 year anniversary. I dug through a few magazines and found some pictures of Dylan. I scanned them in and I'll share some tomorrow.

I saw Conor play in Detroit in 2011 and he played with Todd. Mid way through the set he introduced everyone and said something about him skating.

I dunno what it says about acceptance or my grasp on life but for some reason I still feel like he’s still out there and going to put out a part one day, like he’s taking a break. And when Spotify plays better days, it doesn’t ever get skipped.

I'd say so. I think oblow talks about Dylan telling him after a Huf tour he was feeling really run down and exhausted, more than usual after a trip.

it still hurts so bad. everytime a hero dies you never really get over it. mortality is a heavy heavy thing, i can never quite wrap my head around it. the sadness really hits you during the moments one would think are mundane, at least for me. i still feel like all my lost loved ones are alive, and they are in a way. but its just fucked. death is so fucked.
anyways, RIP Dylan, and all the amazing people who have gone too soon.

From November 2010 Skateboarder - cover and feature interview. All but one of the photos ended up in his Gravis part. I'd include photo credits, but I can't remember them all and the magazines are at home.

I left out the text so that the images could be better quality. Let me know if you want the text and I'll re-scan later today.

The cover was a fold-out:

Fakie flip over the rail into the bank - crazy how it looks like a kickflip up and over the rail

A sequence I've never seen footage of

Backside flip over the green rail

Kickflip over the rail - my favorite shot from the interview

Front lip

Sequence of the front tail kickflip to fakie out - sorry for the poor quality

RIP Dylan

Thanks for the scans! If I recall correctly, the Skateboarder interview was shot by Mehring.

Thanks! That's who I was thinking too, but I know that John Bradford had a lot of stuff in Skateboarder around this time, too

Damn, thank you for those scans blurst! I've never seen that Skateboarder interview and the photos in it. Crazy that by the time the dylan. part came out, he had one-upped himself on three of the tricks in that interview. He switched filpped over the rail he backside flipped, front heeled over the fence he kickflipped, and back smithed the rail he front lipped. I love skate nerd shit and getting to look back on stuff like this.

Rest in power, Dylan <3

Time to Shine was the first video I ever owned, and while its obviously not his best, I still have such a soft spot for his section in that video.
