Might pick this up and try to get back into skating this spring.

Any thoughts?

I like that Powell is making a variety of their shapes and sizes. Liking the dimensions of the 243 (8.25 x 31.95 x 14.25) and would ride on in the near future.

Thunder 148 are a great versatile truck that should last you across a few setups from 7.75 - 8.25.

Wheels are pretty subjective, can't go wrong with a 52mm and Formula 4, but I would choose a Classic or Radial Slim in 99a, 101a on Spitfire feels a little too hard for my liking.

Bones Swiss are fine, I'm in the camp of buying value bearings (REDS) and tossing them if they wear out. If you don't do a good job maintaining the Bones Swiss I feel they aren't worth the money. A good middle ground may be Bones Big Balls, been hearing lots of good stuff on them.

Griptape - I'm a cheapskate so I usually go for the cheaper free grip / MOB / Jessup.

Yay on the Allen bolts, I think they are less likely to strip versus Phillips.

Better.

That’s my initial reaction. But I should admit it’s been a long time from me having pro leathers, and longer still since blazers. I loved the grip/flick on the pro leathers. Not sure why I stoped skating them. Had the trash talk ones, didn’t seek those out that’s just what was there. I know all the real skateboarders love blazers tho.
I’m also overly influenced by the fact that Bobby and Guy also looked great in the pro leathers.

I skated a pair and they have more arch support than Blazers.

I'll take that advice, use them for walking not for skating.

Have been wearing Straye for the past year and honestly they're really killing my feet. I know I deserve it for going with them but anyway was looking to get ES Accel ogs or the slims. I used to wear the accels back in the day but haven't had a pair in atleast a decade. Planning on going down to my local this weekend and trying them both but wanted to know what you pals thought are better?

found this for reference by searching and check page 230 of the truck thread. Mention the rear width and such. But I’d say 151 bc of that rear taper.

First board I’ve set up in about 4 years. Ed’s part in the New Deal promo vid was my biggest skating inspiration as a kid but I couldn’t get this board at the time. Had to cop it when I saw the reissues were coming!

New Deal Templeton “Woof Cat” reissue, 9.75 screenprint version
Film trucks 6.0”
Speedlab American Nomad 56mm
NMB bearings (for old times sake, might upgrade them, will see how they roll)
Film rails
Film bolts
Cliché 1/8” risers
Jessup (didn’t quite get the line properly lined up, looks better from some angles though, honest!)

I too just built up a New Deal Templeton deck.  This will be for park skating. I have Indy 149's, Spitfire OG Classic 60mm, and Sparrow bearings:

Slims are like regular modern shoe and OG’s are HUGE by today’s standards, I’d go with slims.

Heavily considering some Film trucks or Destrucos, whichever ones don't let the wheels touch during slides and skate good. My buddy lent me some Theeves so those other two trucks are the only trucks I haven't properly skated.

I heard film trucks were great, heavily considering the inverted kingpin ones, but I hear the wheelbase varies between models?

I've heard different things about Destruco, some people really like them and others not so much.

Anyone got info on either?

Footprint insoles 🤷🏻‍♂️
They run a little big.
I use them in my work boots because they didn’t fit my laksis.

despite them looking like a muska/ creager hybrid, I have heard people on here say they liked the swift version 1 as opposed to the 1.5. I’ve only skated the version 1, but it’s a great shoe, probably the best I’ve had in years

8.6" Magenta board. Need an excuse to throw some extra washers on my Ace 44s and bring them back. Plus I've been watching Soy's Static III part a bunch lately.

A little nervous because I've been fucking with a 9.125 football but it also tapers heavily so it probably would be a big deal.

Now I'm intrigued. May try out a pair when my Nikes give out, which were surprisingly durable for a mid-priced shoe.
