I think this is another Dream Girl shape. The dims are just ever so slightly off but I barely measure over 9" on the Adored Dream Girl I have. I wonder why this is the third one from as many companies this year when it used to be a JK exclusive? The only common thread is BBS, though that's not confirmed for the Uprise deck. Also I totally get that maybe I am the only one who gives a shit but it's my favorite eggish 1991/2 shape. The graphic on this one is pretty dope too.

Sure does look nice, especially from the top view.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

whats the width over the trucks?
wanted to try one for a minute
just dont want to size up past 8.75 axles

from the middle of the rear truck holes, the width is 8.75 almost on the dot.
from the middle of the closer truck holes up front it looks like 9.75, and if you did the longer 14.5 WB, sacrificing some of the nose, it'd be just a little smaller than that. Hope you get one, I'm not a Powell fan particularly as much as I am a Frankie Hill fan but it's been so sick to ride. Here was my first session on it at a nearby pump track

It’s so fun riding reissues. Have always wanted to ride a Powell Vallely. That Hill looks super sick

Hopefully the skate gods can forgive me for this setup:

Curren Caples 9.0”
Tensor mag lights
Spitfire F4 55 mm classics

Couldn’t resist trying the mag lights for curbs.  Anyone have any experience with Tensors? What’s up with the stock bushings and pivot cups?

I'm sure you have a feel for the trucks now but just a heads up, I bent the shit out of mine doing slappies. I never had an issue with the 5.5s but my 5.75s did not hold up. Hangers still have a ton of life left in them too.

Just ordered the new double drilled Heroin mutant. Still wondering if I should go with the 14.6 or 14.1 wb. I like the 14.6 wb on my other mutant but 14.1 sounds like it'd be fun.

Oh yeah - I’m pretty much operating under the assumption that I’ll bend the shit out of them doing slappies too!

Overall though I’m pretty impressed by the trucks.  The turn isn’t that noticeably inferior to Indy and the grind is obviously really good.  I thought I’d try them for a session or two then get bummed on them and go back to Indys but I’ve been pleasantly surprised and plan to keep running them till they bend.

Anyone know when Tensor will be releasing the 6.0 Mags?   Seems like a lot of people are riding prototypes in various YouTube videos.

Just set up a heroin craig questions board , do bigger boards feel soggy ? Feels like this board doesn’t have much pop or is it the softer wheels ? Otherwise love da big board and short wheelbase.

soft wheels definitly feel more soggy.
it shouln't be the deck. could also have to do with the weight making it heavier to lift so you might pop lower than you expect yo. youll get used to that. but my bet is the wheels if they're softies.

Is it a dipped board?
Ive had some dipped decks from Heroin with which I’ve experienced varying degrees of the “soggy” feel. Some more so than others, for whatever reason. I stopped thinking about it and was still able to enjoy those decks.

My Heroin 9.75” symmetrical egg felt soggy. It’s the biggest board I’ve skated as a normal board with the heaviest trucks. Not sure if it was the size of the thing or if it was just soggy. I had hard wheels on it. I’ve had 9.25” boards with longer wheelbases and soft wheels not feel soggy at all so who knows. Heroin BBS so I wouldn’t expect them to be soggy but it is a possibility.

Grabbed a 9.5 Black Label Jason Adams Curb Shark. Very stoked to get this out once my knee heals up.

Specs:
9.5"x32.75" with a 14.625" wheelbase. The deck is actually about 9" at the trucks so I threw some Indy 169s on.

Is it the shaped Craig Questions board?  I usually like Heroin decks (although I seem to chip them easily - not sure if it’s the razor edge or just coincidence) but for some reason that specific Craig Questions shaped deck just didn’t work for me and felt kind of clunky.  I think it was more that shape though - it’s wide without having that taper at the tail coffin-ish shape like a Dane 1 or a Krooked Sweatpants so the wideness of the tail messed with me popping tricks.  That’s the only Heroin deck that’s ever felt soggy in my experience.  In general I don’t think most big boards feel soggy or clunky.

Yeah it’s the shaped 9.5, gonna use it mainly to ride around the neighborhood and some transition. I only set it up cuz I bought a flight deck complete with Indy hollows off someone and it also came with some nice big Indy Ti trucks and some Big g slides.

So good!

I had a couple of the other Adams boards (Six Gun re-release) but they tapered too much, so just didn't balance out.  In looking at that one, I was still hesitant, but it looks much more normal right through.

This is the second one of these on here which triggered my thought to question the width over bolts, which as you said is about 9.

Thanks.

The dimensions of your deck may make it feel soggy. A longer tail shrinks your pop angle in some cases, so you have to adapt to it, or compensate it with larger wheels or raisers. Most Heroin eggs have longer kicks, like 7", or even 7.25".

As for big boards feeling soggy, I never experienced that on Curb Crusher XL with 169 Indys and G-Bones, which is very big (10.25) and heavy. It works better for me than any other setup I tried before. I set it up and skated a couple of sessions in a mini-ramp before taking it to the streets. Then I ollied up 3 stairs on it first try and did a proper no-comply up the same 3 stairs. The pop felt insanely strong, and these tricks were really hard for me when I skated Polar Dane 1 with much smaller wheels.

Yeah, it's not a severe taper from bolts to bolts. About a half-inch difference on each end compared to the center of the board. Haven't had a chance to ride it, but I'd imagine is feels more like a 9" board than a 9.5".

My only concern is killing myself or someone else with that nose!

Scram 10.5
15" wb

trucks, wheels, etc the same as the Powell Frankie Hill setup I posted a while back.
embracing the longer wheelbase since I learned the ace 66 classics shorten it up a lot compared to other trucks I like to ride

really stoked on the tailblock divot (maybe itll help me learn them on things taller than 3ft? scary to slip)
and stoked on Scram in general. gonna listen to a bunch of Nausea and dub reggae and channel my inner crustie
