Well shit. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I can get him to do a Lupe dragon for me since Nolan gave him the stencils.

patiently waiting for a lance mountain ssd setup post

Grimple Stix Lance Mountain Guest Deck 9.83" x 31.06" with 14.5" wheelbase
Thunder 161 Standards
Spitfire Radial Fulls 58mm 97a (worn down to around 56mm now)
Bones Swiss 6
MOB
1" hardware

Was going to put on OJ rails but I forgot the hardware for one of them.

Also for anyone wondering, the shape is similar to the Black Label Street Thing/Man Van shape but with a much shorter and different shaped nose. They even have the same wheelbase.

Rad. I was wondering how they compared. The BL Street Thing/Man Van is my fave shape.

Here’s the top. I didn’t want to post it because the grip job was half-assed, just used scraps I had lying around, and had my daughter help decorate it.

But at least you get a feel for the shape.
The iPhone camera distorts it a tiny bit, the tail is actually wider and a bit more blunted, but here it is

Yeah, they don’t have many, and they are a bit pricy, but I wanted to grab something from there, it was my first time visiting there even though I’ve been here for years.

He keeps them in the back right-hand corner under the glass.

Hope you're referring to pre-warmongering Kropotkin but awesome shoutout in general :)

I have a 10.5 Scram deck coming I need trucks for:

AF1 80 or Indy 215? Do 215's have the same geometry as (the newer) Stage 4 reissues? I dig the Stage 4 turn.
I also enjoy Ace!

First world problems lol.

You're in luck as 215s have always been Stage IV. If the 215s hadn't been in production all these years, we probably would never have gotten the IV reissues as they reverse engineered the geo for the smaller trucks based on the 215s.

Congrats, Scram’s giant popsicles look really fun.

Go Ace, or the 10” Slappy model. From my last experience on 215s, they’re much floppier in their turn than any of the smaller sizes and feel a little dead overall. Haven’t ridden Ace 80s but have a set of hollow 77s that are prime time, so I’d be willing to go out on a limb and say the extra half inch won’t mess anything up too bad.

What deck? If it’s shaped, you might be best with Aces since that what Nolan rides. I’ve got 215s and have no issues with them but on the big shaped decks they tend to hot rod a bit in the back. Aces are a bit more forgiving in that area. Next set of 215s I’m shaving them down to 9 7/8” or 9 3/4”. Don’t mind a little hot rod up front but not a fan on the back.

crosspost from the egg thread. been thinking of downsizing since last winter when i set up a old 9.5 for a fiew sessions and liking it.

i set up a 9.4 Space Egg.
i was looking for one a while ago and coulnt find it. so i coulnt help but get it when my local suddenly got one. the smallest board i've skated in the last 4 years. but its great fun. put on my old worn down OG classics again. i set up some bigger wheels before i went to japan last month, and i regretted it the whole trip. i dont think i can do over 50mm anymore..

no risers to make up for the tiny tail. but still it messes with me how short these tails are. i know i can get used to it cause i did on my old curbkillers too. but damn.
also no rails. maybe i'll put them on later if i miss them.

I scored some stage 7 215's on eBay that are brand new, only used on a wall mounted board. Finding a deck where these gigantic things will fit that has a short wheelbase has been hard. Can anyone help me out with some links? I hate hot rodding so I don't want them sticking out past the deck at all, either.

Heroin Wideboy (10.75” egg, 10.3 over the trucks) and Anatomy of a Wideboy (10.4” Egg, 10” over the trucks) both have nice tidy wheelbases around 14.25-14.3. I know people have run 215s on the Dead Dave mutant shape, but I think that’d hot rod too much for your liking.

Scram has big popsicles but all have 15” wheelbases I think. Maybe something from Sea Rat or Pete’s Pigs?

yeah i hit them up to ask the color of the top ply and they said purple. and i was like fuck its that dark purple thats nearly black. and i was bummed. asked if it was dark to be sure and they said light purple. it looks even better in real life.

Thanks man, I'm thinking the 10.4 anatomy of a wideboy is the best choice. My only issue is...once I put some wheels on these 215's  they just look disgustingly wide. I almost can't handle it lol.

They’re honkers that’s for sure. At least for me, I find a bigger wheel aesthetically preferable on wide trucks, little and narrow wheels just accentuate the gigantic hangers.

Well, I did it. Running 1/4" risers under the trucks actually provided a great feeling and sounding ollie when I pop this gigantic thing. Turning feels stage 4 100%, insanely good. But somehow I basically lost slappies and having so much hanger is making some stuff really weird and challenging and at times I wanted to just give up on this thing. Going to skate all day today and try getting used to it more.
