After checking out this thread, I had to have one.

Set it up with some Venture 6.1 V Hollow lights and Loophole wheels (with our Fusion bearings, that we’re currently testing, in them).

It’s such a fun ride.  So fast and smooth.

Are you running risers?  I like risers with 54s on ventures, but that’s with a wide wheel. Do the classics wheel bite less aggressively due to the shape?

No risers, somehow it doesn’t get much bite, I assume it is because they are a classic shape.

Has anyone skated a Fried Egg? If so what trucks and wheel size works in it? Just picked one up and was surprised how short the tail is.

I know there are tons of different egg shapes, but how much do these taper around over the bolts? I’m trying to decide if i should get 8.75 trucks or 9.0. I don’t see myself ever riding an egg over 9” or 9.1” though.

I think most people usually go for about 1/4" or so down in truck size.

My Huffer 9.18 has Indy 159s (8.75) and they work well.

The 9.5 Heroin egg has Thunder 161 (9") trucks after I tried 151s (8.75) and thought it was just a bit too far in.

Two others with around 8.75 width boards have 149s and an 8.3 has 139s all sitting just nicely under on normal sized wheels.

* I forgot to add, but if you already have a board, or can see it in person, measure the width across the far front and far back bolts for a pretty accurate width of truck as that is about where the axle sits on most when considering where the wheels are, but if you are not sure, the best way is this - don't like any wheel showing, go down in truck size, or want a wider more stable ride, then go up in truck size.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

To add to this, I set up my Huffer (9.18") with Ace AF1 66s (9" axle) and I really wasn't feeling it, so I swapped them for Indy 149s (8.5" axle) and that really unlocked it for me. it's all about preference.

Yeah, it depends on the use you give it too (then again it's all about the preference baby). I Have a 9.12 egg and I have Thunder 161s (9inch axel) on it. It hot rods just a bit but I use it as a cruiser/filmer board and when I do skate it normally Its usually for grinds and transition tricks, although flipping it is hella fun too. I imagine that if you want to skate it as a regular board you might want the trucks to not stick out as much

Over the last year or so I have ridden the Uma 9" egg and Heroin symmetrical 9" with 8.5" trucks, the Couch with both 8.75" and 9" trucks (feels better with the 8.75" trucks) and the Huffer with 9" and 8.75" trucks.

Totally personal preference but I think eggs work best with axle width being about 1/4" less than the deck at its widest.

Bravo to you! That quiver looks *chefs kiss. I love the graphics of the fried egg! Too bad it's a bit small and I don't really need another egg shape right now.

How do you like the curb killer?  Is it functional for everyday skating?  I have one at home and I debate whether it’s a skate deck or just a for-the-wall deck.  I’m currently skating the 9.5” symmetrical egg (below) but the curb killer looks much bigger in comparison.  I grabbed the smaller Mandy egg too from the more recent drop.

Before throwing the cruiser wheels on it I was skating it on a semi-regular basis, but it is a lot of board to work with! The 9.25 symmetrical has been my go to since that shape came out, I'm on my third one at the moment. Nowadays if I'm on a coffee run I'll take the curb killer out and maybe hit a slappy or two while I'm out and about, but other than that I just keep it to cruising on it.

I set this up from bits and pieces laying around. Totally forgot I had the Ace 55 and the Boardy cakes are down to about 39mm from 44mm. Will be a fun curb board. I’ve been riding FA’s and other squarish shapes and it feels damn good to be back on an egg

Did you re-drill for the 14.375 WB?? SW has it listed as 14.5(they often have dims wrong) so seeing this has me curious.

This board, the new krooked moonsmile, and the Huffer (currently riding one) have piqued my interest in my hunt for a new deck.

There’s a Uma too but that and the krooked are looked a little too pointy at both ends. Next week, I’m gonna go into the shop and check em all out.
