Anyone skate that Generator egg yet? any thoughts?
I haven’t skated it yet, but I have one waiting to set up. Escapist got a few of them in the last shop deck re-up.
I wanna crap in a box just to mail it to you so your bitch ass can smell it

Yeah for sure, with a subtle sense of humor and says what he thinks. I loved hearing about the random creative processes he goes through on graphics and shapes.

i wonder when will the new 10" size ace trucks that they're testing be available.

Was listening to the FOS interview and immediately got the itch to setup an egg (to add to my insanely stupid vast stable) and grabbed a Razor Edge (14.25WB) to pair with a set of Ace 66 classics and Bones Dragon wheels. I hope it's as exciting as I imagine it in my head.

I was really happy that I actually had the gear laying around to set up his daily ride.  My favorite part is how it sits totally level on its side. The wheel wells really help with such a wide truck. I cant imagine a 10" axis.

Had the parts laying around as well — minus grip — and got what I needed and built it up. Feels like its going to be a super fun  setup.

So good! Pretty funny that we can just go grab the same specs out of the closet and put it together. I wouldnt be surprised if a couple other members could do so as well.

Crosspost with the setup thread. I’ve been looking forward to trying this shape for a while. Did anyone else try the 101 Mcnatt reissue? I wanted to like it so bad but I just couldn’t get into it. The tail felt super small and weird, I redrilled the back truck up a bit to give me a little more room but I think the shape just sucks and can’t be saved.

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

.

Thought this info is good here too:

I'm not sure what thread this info goes best in, but for you Egg and general shape riders, Tactics now includes the width over the front and back truck on shape deck listings

*  Doesn't have it for all yet, but it does for some.

Example:

https://www.tactics.com/krooked/flower-emboss-875-skateboard-deck/brown

SPECS
SIZE   8.75
FRONT WIDTH (IN):   8.5
CENTER WIDTH (IN):   8.75
BACK WIDTH (IN):   8.375
LENGTH (IN):   31.5
WHEELBASE (IN):   14.25
NOSE (IN):   6.81
TAIL (IN):   6.375
I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

incorrectly at that
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Absolutely in love with Heroin’s 9” symmetrical egg. I was on the 9.4 for a bit and love that as well, but sizing down has brought me more in line with the 8.75 popsicles that were my go to over the last 5 years.

Ha! Let me know how you like the shape if you haven’t already ridden one of the 9.0 symmetricals.

Kinda bummed they did a directional graphic on a symmetrical deck, but I guess that’s subjective.

“éggS” should definitely be happening here, though.

as someone who loves The Thing a lot. not too stoked on that graphic compared to the previous movie ones. maybe with another stain it looks better. the light blue stains they use for many mockups never look good to me.

I just ordered a 9” symmetrical Heroin egg. What set of AF1 should I use: 55 or 66?

I use 149s on my 9” symmetrical. So whatever they translates to in ACEs. The board is around 8.75 at the bolts.

Realistically I could use 159s as well (and I have), but I like 149s better for some reason.

Yeah, no definite this and not that but it also depends if you have them on hand, or have to go get more trucks.  Always trying whatever you have there first might save you some money and you can always get the 60s later if you want the in between, as per info below.

Maybe go very roughly like this, although it is still down to personal opinion as well as the width of the wheels you have on them and how many washers on the inside of each wheel.

149 = AF1 55 - 8.5" axle (sits a little under)
159 = AF1 60 - 8.75" axle (sits even)
169 = AF1 66 - 9" axle (sits a little out)

* 169 = 9.125" but for argument sake, just say it is closest to 9" to match up to the Ace AF1 66s.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Is it the consensus 'round these parts that its better to have the axles flush with the board above the axles, compared to flush with the middle of the deck?

edit: Grammar
