Found a site selling some Tensors, is there any difference between these 2 models? One of them has the "NEW ALL TERRAIN GEOMETRY" the other just says "ALL TERRAIN GEOMETRY"

NEW ATG: https://thankyousupply.com/collections/tensor-trucks/products/tensor-new-black-mag-light-skateboard-trucks?variant=31351123640383
ATG: https://thankyousupply.com/collections/tensor-trucks/products/ten-mag-light-red?variant=14610539249727

Aside from the little logo over the black / white variants on the truck.

Last question before I pull the trigger, 5.25 or 5.5 for 8-8.25 boards? thankyousupply, tactics and skatewarehouse are giving me mixed answers. I'm riding 8.0 with Thunder 147 right now, looking to size up to 8.18 - 8.25 in the near future. So I'm looking for a size that will give me versatility on more sizes.

5.5 if you're skating 8.1-8.25.  5.75 if you go 8.25-8.5

A few pages back someone was trying to remember who runs Film Trucks, it's Jérémie Daclin:

https://www.instagram.com/jeremiedaclin/

For the guy looking for them in the states, I remember them (Film) posting about a shop stateside that stocks them (euro skate or something like that) but I can't find the post now, just message Jérémie on Instagram.

I got some of the cheap Tensor alloy trucks to see if they were any good and have been riding them for a few days now on a Scram deck and now a Polar Dane 1 (trucks are 8.75 axle).

First impressions:

Didn’t like how tight the bushings felt so I threw some Bones mediums in and now they turn great. It was cold out when I first tried them and I definitely didn’t give enough time to break them in, so I can’t really speak to the true quality of the original bushings.

They grind fine, no problems there.

I haven’t measured or weighed them, so I can’t yet comment with any accuracy there but by feel they seem kind of similar to Indy’s. Turn nice, not as low or as easy to grind as thunders. Little more like Indy’s but lighter feeling than the standard Indy’s with similar meatiness on the hanger.

Anyway, it’s only been a few days so I can’t comment on durability but they are only $20 for a pair shipped (on Tactics and on EBay too) and have a life time guarantee against defects, so if they crack it’s no big loss.

I’ll update if I get a chance to measure wheelbase and weigh them before they grind down too much. I can post pics if y’all want too

Keeping it simple this time.
No matter what bushing combo I try out, the stock /medium ML just feel the best. I always say this but literally they felt perfect as soon as I got on this new set up.

Im interested in trying low trucks, rode indys for a minute now. Only thing that kinda sketches me out is wheel size, is 53mm too big for lows?
[close]

I wouldn't do it, 52mm or smaller for me.
[close]

On true lows? Talking ~50mm here like ML, Indy/Venture lows (Thunders if you can find them)...I'd not touch anything over 51mm.

Also depends on how loose you go, tho with lows my guess isn't too much.
[close]
I ride 54s on the 7.63 ML trucks but I use risers also.I keep my trucks pretty loose. Lots of jiggle. Sometimes I let my friends ride my board and typically they get wheel bite or try one trick and give it back because they couldn’t really balance lol.
So if I someone wants bigger than 51mm wheels and doesn’t mind risers, ML will still work great. I also have ridden the 8.38 trucks with 54s no risers just as loose; I had pretty deep wheelbite grooves on those but I still skated them just as hard.
[close]

What would be the highest low I could get? Id like to stick with a 53 or at least 52. Or should I rather consider some mid trucks then?
[close]

On mids I tend to go no bigger than 53mm...on my ventures, loose, I wheelbite like mad with 53s (wide conicals).

ML I went 51mm

It's odd but I've always matched truck mm height to wheel mm height, rounding up when needed. No method, just madness.

49mm truck = 50mm wheels
52mm truck = 52/53mm (the exception here is I can run 52mm ACE with 54mm with no problems)
53.5mm truck = 53
55mm truck 54/55/56

Thank you, I feel you on matching truck to wheel height. Think ill get some ventures or wait and see the dimensions of the indy mids coming out.

got the mag lights today. they turned pretty smoothly at first, but got worse as time went on. had them wobbly loose and they were extremely stable (thumbs up). i think it might be due to the material of the pivot cups or the magnesium. when debris gets in there, the trucks don't jiggle. they kind of stick and you can feel it. that and maybe because of the top interlocking bushing. not bad, though. i'll try to swap out the pivot cups. slappies are smooth, but nothing to write home about, in my opinion. didn't notice the height either, which i was afraid would make the board tipsy. the main selling point is their weight, but i can't really tell once they're on the board. i think it's because i ride a small board and things aren't as spread apart, so you can feel the weight of everything. gonna shred them down, make them lighter than they already are, and throw them on a cruiser

Did you check what the do to the WB? I'm contemplating getting a pair to replace my Thunder 148: love how they grind and the height but not a fan of how the wheels rub up against a ledge when sliding. Read they they widen the axle roughly the same as the Thunders.

my board has a 14 1/8" wheelbase and the tensors measure to be 17 7/16", center of axle to center of axle. so they extend it by 3.3125", which is a bit more than thunders according to this
https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=88869.msg3065039#msg3065039
but looking at the previous mentions of the tensor atg's, people have said they're in between indys and thunders
pretty close to thunders, either way

They work for me, they slide super good just the way I like. The A Cuts are really good feeling too. I haven’t got any harsh flat spots on any of the Ml wheels I’ve ridden over the last few months. I change wheels every month or two tho then give to my friends who usually skate then another couple months.

okay - day 2. on certain materials, it's terrifyingly slick
put some wax shavings in the pivot cup and swapped the bottom bushing and washer for a standalone ace bottom bushing. they turn better now. looser than before, but still stable as heck. they have a tendency to steer you straight ;). a bit of force is required to turn more than 30 degrees or so. not a fan of that, personally. good alternative trucks

Is that before or after you put in a soft barrel bottom? It's like putting barrels in Theeves or Thunders, they just turn better with conicals. ymmv tho ;)

I found that using bones bushings in them is the best alternative (I find the stocks too hard, no clue what the duro is they feel pretty hard, guessing 96ish).

But instead of going soft bottom/hard top (like ace does stock, and if you are using new ace bushings you have a soft bottom hard tensor top now - I find I don't like that combo on non 'Indy/Ace' camp trucks but prefer hard bottom, soft top in my thunders/ventures/tensors).

Plus the bones bottom/tensor top has a ridiculous return to center snap. Running bones softs top and bottom gets those damn things turning like crazy.

No matter what tho, I do suggest using a flat top washer, that stock washer is big and was binding for me.

don't remember. i do have some indy conical bottoms, but they're turning just fine now so i'm not gonna mess with them. swapped the tops for ventures because that's all i had. don't like the hardness of the tensor stocks. i really have no idea what the combination of hard/soft does, but i figured since i like aces, i'll try soft bottom, harder top. did away with all washers. they're for stability, right? the trucks are plenty stable without them

Anyone know if Fury is still around ? I remember really liking a set I had about 15 years ago. They had a weird and sharp turning geometry but once you got used to it, they were real good.
I had a set of fury’s when they dropped and they had a real thin riser built in and these things on the baseplate to keep the nut locked in.
