Because I was asked in a DM, and was wrong in a earlier post that’s probably buried by now.
Destructo mids baseplates do get some contact. In this shitty hard to tell picture, I’m riding 54s and the wheels are centimeters off the ledge. Also the magnesium baseplates wear down faster.

You can find Destructo railkillers with the extended aluminum baseplate online. They were on the website but not anymore. I saw them making some red ones in insta but never saw them for sale.
Anyone know what's the difference between D1 and D2 trucks? And what they do with WB?
D1 is higher, uses barrel/conical bushings, and seems to be designed as more of an Indy-type truck but I haven't skated them so I don't know if that's actually how they skate. I believe they have the in-between axle sizes too like Tensor Tens/lows.
D2 is a little lower, uses conical/conical bushings, and has more of a Thunder style to it. I have a pair of the 8.5" axle (5.75? I forget what their sizing nomenclature is) and they're excellent. Didn't measure the WB but it feels similar to a cast baseplate thunder with a very responsive turn but seems to go a bit deeper and have a bit more surf to it when riding them tight than thunders. Fairly light weight, the 8.5 is 350g on the dot. Pop is really nice and they just all around feel like a better Thunder 149 to me. Great stock bushings too.
Btw the person I sent the Film raws too measured them and they are in fact shorter wb than the hollows. Again, I have no idea why that is but there must be more to them than just a hollow kingpin. For what its worth the baseplate does appear to be different from the hanger and the baseplate of the raws, it's polished and smooth so maybe they aren't using the same mold or changed it slightly for a newer batch or something.
