Piss Drunk now is a brand, decks threw Iron Distubion in Europe.

https://www.irondistribution.com/fr/58-pissdrunx-skateboards

I'm guessing same wood as Antiz.
Not an Antiz fan, I remember somebody in here asked them about the factory and they were kinda dicks about it and never tell shit.

Can confim PD is going to be printed on the same wood as Antiz.
Yeah they don't tell much about their factory. It's no big deal actually, wood is good.

.

It almost seems funny that PD as a way of life was just not sustainable - Reynolds and others now sober and living clean and healthy, compared to being young and crazy, but that doesn't take away from the brand at all - the iconic PD logo on those boards.

I guess it is a whole different world for some, as well as a different market there in EU.

* I still have Antiz as "China unknown" so any other info would be good, but it is not that big a deal.  Some of those places don't rely on name like the US / MX woodshops.

From what i know Antiz is chinese wood, i think the same factory for Santa Cruz and Creature.
probably PD (is it a thing?)will be printed by Antiz in their warehouse in Lyon.

Dwindle Distribution was the owner of a number of brands, all of which fell on its face when things went south after being sold.

DSM is the woodshop and totally separate and its own entity so although it has often been confused with one and the same, or pretty much two intertwined businesses, they have been kept completely separate for a number of reasons, least of all, that it can function independently of any distributor or company.

DSM is still owned by Globe / Hardcore, who also owned Dwindle before selling it off a while back, which is also where some confusion comes from.

As far as I know, DSM has still been full steam ahead and has been making boards as per normal, if not specific boards for Dwindle, at least a significant number of other brands who all use this woodshop for all their skateboard needs.  I have tried to keep things updated as much as I can, including changing the "Dwindle woodshop" over to "DSM woodshop" on the first page.

I think Bravo Sports now owns Dwindle, or what is left of it, so I really don't know if there will be any more of anything, generic product or whatever from any Dwindle brand, besides what is being farmed out to Walmart and similar places.  Globe is still distributing some of the heritage brand product, reissues and the like, from what I have heard too, but again I don't know what exactly or any other info there.  There may still be a huge backlog of product that is still to be cleared out as well, from the distributors that were left sitting on stock when Dwindle went south, but again, I don't know anything else about that either.

Anyone else knows anything to add, please feel free too - this woodshop forum relies heavily on everyone else to help with info too, so never be afraid to ask a question, give some info or feedback, etc.

Thanks!

I doubt there will be anything from Dwindle as we knew it going forward, certainly not on their old construction. It looks like DSM Woodshop (Huizhou Chop Chop Woodshop) is the Plaintiff in a lawsuit agains Bravo Highline, the current owners of Dwindle. A Notice of Judgment was filed on 5/16/24. The terms of that may have something to do with why thankyousupply.com just had a 50% fire sale in July and isn't taking new orders.

I'd love to read all of the case documents, but I'm no lawyer and don't feel like paying for that info. However, if any of you do:

So Globe sold dwindle for $1.5mil and kept chop, only for chop to sue dwindle for $7mil

I read some conflicting press releases that say Bravo also got DSM. Maybe they did since it's been referred to as chop, from people like Barletta. It could be a Generator/BBS situation. Bravo got the DSM name, maybe even their contracts, but not the actual factory.

Bravo doesn't know how to run a core-focused skateboard company. They bought Sector 9, ran it into the ground, then sold it back. It doesn't make sense to buy like 7 of them all at once. 7mil is probably not enough to sink Bravo, but I can't imagine that they've been happy with this aquisition

I’m going to muddy everything up and say I’ve skated a SC and a creature deck back to back and it sure doesn’t feel like dwindle wood anymore. Doesn’t have the stiffness, the weight or the concave. I swear they are squeezing a birch ply in the decks because they are way lighter and lose pop much earlier than they did before. Had a provost on the stumps shape and it was amazingly light. IDK.

I wonder if through all the goings on, places like NHS contracted supply through Dwindle for a bit, then went with Excel, hence something going on there in legal ground, but as I know nothing about it at all, it would be pure speculation on my part anyway.

As to other legal things going on, who really knows what though - seems like the whole selling and buying of skate brands, along with everything that goes with it, only benefits the initial seller, so the company itself gets shafted, the new owners end up getting screwed too somewhat, or totally, then the well known pro names can just start another company and go on from there doing the same thing they have been, or at least building up a new company that still has interest and following from the skateboard community.

Any which way, it is interesting to hear some of the things going on but I don't feel like there is a lot that would really change for me, knowing too much, compared to not knowing enough regarding different woodshop politics and goings on.

Sure has opened my eyes being on here these last few years and helping get the woodshop thread up to where it is anyway.

I wonder if that is $7 mil in lost revenue, that Dwindle had board orders in for months ahead through DSM that they didn't end up fulfilling with the drop of the staff, team, etc.  As a company, Dwindle sure did move a lot of product and a lot of wood, from what I saw.

Could be about right.

At one point, maybe 2018 - 2020 or so, the NHS boards looked like the thicker Dwindle like wood, from a few I saw, then said to go to Excel from 2021 so have been that ever since.  The other NHS brands started full production in China around 2018, at least from the "Made in" stickers I had seen on some things, their wheels, which were Made in USA now had Made in China on them - again maybe slightly different or earlier time frame and I just saw these around that time, but that also is about right for Independent trucks too, given the change in production there.

As I don't follow NHS that closely (apart from riding Indy trucks) I could be out by a fair bit for the actual years of things, so maybe more just from seeing the products, seeing the stickers, the markings, even seeing and standing on the boards, that is about the timeframe that I recall anyway.

After seeing the wood shop directory yea for sure none of those boards feel like dwindle. Especially not the suprior, maybe they’re cheaper off brands of it. Wonder if anyone will pick up the resin 7 technology that’s what I really wanna know. Anyone that’s skated opera or jacuzzi here before can attest to the pop lasting long or board keeping its shape?

In that link there's paperwork stating something like "loss from goods ordered" and then a 51 page document of "exhibits". Seem you need an account to download more than the 1st page.

I know our local Dwindle Distro is still unboxing and selling Enjoi and Almost decks.

https://skatesamples.com/products/blank-deck-premium-2-dye

Guessing they sold out quickly the first time, so I would say get in sooner rather than later to get some more of these, although they might have restocked a lot of them, if they are popular now.

The BBS short boards are very similar, but not the same as the Polar boards, as per this post from the other day.

Seems like they would be a good mix for people who do want to have slightly shorter boards in the 8.5 and 8.25 sizes.

I went back and checked, easy enough with the words DECK SHORT which comes up with the three options, in 8.0, 8.25 and 8.5 boards all in the shorter dimensions:

https://polarskateco.com/search?q=deck+short

8.0” x 31.5” - Short
Nose: 6.8”
Wheel Base: 13.8”
Tail: 6.5”

8.25” x 31.75” - Short
Nose: 6.9”
Wheel Base: 14”
Tail: 6.5”

8.5” X 31.9” - Short
Nose: 7.0”
Wheel Base: 14.125”
Tail: 6.5”

I knew the BBS / Generator on their Skate Samples site had a short version of the 8.25 and 8.5 boards, but they are still different dimensions to these, not by much, but it is interesting to see a number of companies now putting out shorter versions of similar shapes, eg DLX with the Tru Fit boards among others.
Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

A new Woodshop!

Skatewood.eu

https://www.instagram.com/skatewood.eu?igsh=MWY4dzk2bmlsdzkzNw==

It is located in Germany. Apparently the owner used to build presses for large manufacturers like ps stix.

I am skating one of their decks. I have like it a lot so far! Great baker type shape, very stiff with lots of pop. I have skated it for three weeks. It still feels really good.

The latest design of small local brand Kaffee Skateboards is pressed by them. I don‘t know what other Brands they press.

Anyone know which Disorder decks are PS Stix? Or all China now?

Edit: Actually on their website it seems to say PS on all of the ones they sell.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to Brims (and other contributors as well of course) for setting up and maintaining this thread. It's been a goldmine. Just recently helped a friend who wanted to make sure he was getting a BBS deck from among various small brand options, and this thread delivered the goods.

I really don't know, but any pics I have seen had the PS Stix top - sticker placement and laser engraving.

Are they even sold anywhere but the Disorder online store?

Same with this one on ebay:

Yeah, the main thing being as long as the information is current, then we are all good, but if brands change and I haven't been told (or someone has put new info and I have not added it / updated the listing) then things can fall down a bit.

I am stoked on everyone keeping things updated here though, so as much as I do what I can, it would most definitely NOT be what it is without everyone else helping and adding info as well.
