Does anyone know what the wheel base is on a fiber rider?

Thank you.  Man, that’s short!

My buddy bought the Blender Dragons and loves them.  Smooth in a skatepark and has nice rebound.

Just bought some new wheels for one of mine. Considered the blender dragons or bones rough riders which I know Hewitt used to ride. Ended up going with the spitfire 80HD super wides. Interested to see how they roll

I could get the Blender Dragons to power slide and haven’t been able to slide the Sofa Tones or Rough Riders.

The SFW Spitfires look good.  Let us know what you think.

i didn't like 56mm rough riders at all, way too slow (with brand new swiss). the 60mm super wides or 58mm 93a soft sliders, even 58mm radial full 97's over rough riders. the 60mm SW's turn my fiber rider into an unguided missile sometimes, i'll be pushing around super fast and get bounced off mid push and the thing is gone! just takes off all the way down the street, only happens when i'm a little tipsy (not recommend).

the Blender dragons do look interesting.

I asked Santa for some for Christmas but I don’t think she was listening.

I've been using OJ mini-juice 78a. The mk1 version (with the sharp edges) feel softer, and grip well. The mk2 are a bit wider overall, and don't grip as well so a bit easier to slide. They work well for me, but I'm on rough concrete/asphalt.

I wouldn't mind trying some Spitfire 58mm superwides, but they're $80 in the UK.

Yea I been on the stock phasecasters on my fiber rider, I will say with the mellow hills and sidewalks I roll down I ain’t trying to have any harder or smaller of a wheel so the Neil dragons aren’t for my kind of polarizing, im already skirting the phasecasters so ima gonna stick with those

Picked up some Spitfire Superwides on Black Friday. The wheels that came with my little $40 polarizer were super plasticky and had no grip, so the upgrade should make it a lot more fun.

Bearings definitely sit a lot further in than I expected which is good because I was worried they were going to super hot rod. They're definitely wider than the old wheels though. They feel super grippy.

They still look pretty fun though. Gonna rip em a bit this weekend and will report back.

Took em for a couple of alley runs, holy crap what a difference. They’re SO GRIPPY. You could definitely climb walls on these things. They also have really nice rebound so it’s a pretty smooth ride and I rode over some pretty major cracks I expected to get hung up in.

I would say they feel similar to the sofa tone wheels as far as comfort but much harder to slide. If I really dig into a turn on the sofa tones, I can get it to break loose but not with these spitfires.

So far the only issue I have is the wheels are so wide they actually wheel bite against the edge of the board on deep turns and that stops the board dead. I’m definitely not going to tighten the trucks so I’m just trying to feel out how deep I can carve before the deck hits the wheel

Here’s some nerd fodder. Chopped set of ACE I did like a year ago and absolutely love. Think I brought them down to 5.25 over all. Here’s my current quiver. Neil Blender G&S, HW trucks, BONT bushings, some no-name cheap 59mm wheels. MPI NOS deck, chopped ACES, BONT bush, Globe 62mm wheels. Sector 9 City Crusher, ACE 00’s, phase casters 56mm.

This G&S is wrong way around, no? With the wider part at the front. I've got one of the PS Stix polarizers which were printed that way.

I don't have anything resembling a really old-school set-up, but am thinking about getting one.

Question for those in the know: What's the general consensus on 'best' concave options? I've seen them in convex, flat, and mellow concave.

Somehow, on something that small, my gut says convex or flat would be best.

You gonna DIY it, or what? I have both a fiber rider and an OG polarizer, the fiber rider is flat and is more fun for me

TBA. Might get one from Heated Wheel, might get one from Pete's Pigs, might make my own. Might do all three! Lol.

What concave do the OG ones have? What is more fun about the fiber rider?

Well the OG is convex or whatever, its fun for cruising around and what have you, the fiber rider is way more squirrelly and can turn on a dime, I have a downhill right outside my door that has typical driveways, I like to make believe I’m Peter Hewitt and cut back and forth along everyone’s driveways and it’s super fun, there is also this weird satellite thing at the park I go to and I can pump over the bump and carve around the whole thing without tic taccing, the one foot stuff Neil does is easier on the OG though

I also have the convex polarizer and a flat knock off fiber board and I prefer the flat. The polarizer with the reverse concave is a total mind fuck, you really have to put in the time to get used to it and override your muscle memory. Having a flat deck, even a tiny one, just makes a bit more sense.

That being said, once you get one you won't be able to stop...

I feel like I’m in the minority here but I prefer the traditional convex polarizer and don’t find myself reaching much for the fiber rider, but make no mistake, both kick ass.

Well, I pulled the trigger. Have a "Sorry Burt" deck (Heated Wheel...convex/non-flex) coming with trucks and wheels. Will update in the near future.

Took mine out tonight for the first time. Went to a local IKEA after-hours, with intention of riding the polarizer a bit, and then skating the curbs on my normal board. And guess what? I never even touched my regular board. Was having WAAAAY too much fun bombing around the place on the polarizer. Now I can't wait for the snow to melt, so I can try it on some more interesting terrain.

I got the convex one, and man, it felt great under me...almost like it was ergonomically designed to fit the curve/arch of my feet. I'm curious to try a flat one now, but feel like a concave one would be horrible. I also got one of the non-fiberglass ones. It still has some flex, but I know it's no where near the flex of the others ones, which I am also curious to now try. Wheelbase on mine is 16.25". The Mini Mauler is 18" wb. Does anyone know the WB of the fiberglass ones? It's not listed on the Heated Wheel website, but the they (flex) are a bit shorter than others...wondering if WB is also shorter.

Anyway, super, super fun toy. Wish I got one sooner!
