Thanks for the comparison pic @BartHarleyJarvis

I'd love to try some Ace lows. I hear for low trucks they still turn really well...

Alas, I am not a light individual and will likely die on my first kick flop.

I have mine set up with 53mm radials and I'm a heavier dude and it really as not been much an issue for me. ymmv of course but that's my experience.

with the ace classic lows, a buddy setup some 03s, with like 54s or something. i was laughing at him calling him an idiot, which he did not appreciate, he is very sensitive.
but he skated fine on them. he’s also super good so whatever.

what i’m trying to say is that i believe that the ace lows have some wheelbite forgiveness.

what aces does Jacopo use? man i want to know his setup

I fucked with the AF1 lows for awhile with 1/8" risers under 'em and some 52mm wheels. Kingpin clearance is better than the hi's which is crazy. I got loose kingpins quickly on two baseplates though, that was pretty bogus considering they're supposed to be stronger than classics. That's how trahan runs his though, with the risers. Brings em up to standard classics height. They definitely turn better than any low truck ever made but even with risers and small wheels I still got plenty of bite. Better to just run some hi's+risers if you want max turning.

I believe Independent barrels are only 1mm taller. I use Ace low bushings in my Indys and they’re almost identical in size

Indy barrels would probably be the best replacement. They’re taller but the closest overall option I know of.

From the bushing thread:
Ace low
Total  22 mm
Top  10 mm
Bottom  12 mm

Indy stock 90a and aftermarket (same in both cylinder and conical) 78a, 88a, 90a, 92a, 94a, 96a
Total  23.5 mm
Top  10.5 mm
Bottom  13 mm

Edit: Here’s the Bones bushing height:

anyone have the height of bones bushings?
[close]

Total without washer a hair over 24 mm

Top about or just under 11 mm, maybe 10.5

Bottom about or just over 13 mm, maybe 13.5

Flat washer just under one mm

Glad some of that bushing info has been helpful.

I was curious and went to have a look at the JT's chop shop, which is pretty cool, although some of the main truck sizes show "Sold out" for the 8.75 and 9" polished hangers.

https://mesaskatesupply.com/collections/jts-chop-shop

At least if you were getting specific things, that would be helpful, otherwise having to get a regular set of AF1 trucks and then get a separate set of low baseplates to mix and match is a bit of a pain.

I didn't see anything besides AF1 55s in the classified ads either, but someone might have something that works.

Was just window shopping at skatewarehouse and saw these, can’t find any info on them anywhere and they’re not even on ACE’s website. I am so bummed they don’t have an 8.75 but I’m tempted to buy them just because BA is the man. Also a deeds pro truck? Wonder if skate warehouse has them listed early on accident or something

@art hellman appreciate the shout and offer but I think the next Ace I will purchase will be the (seemingly) resized Classic 55s!

According to their new sizing chart on IG stories, the Classic 55s are now 151mm Hanger and 8.625 axle.... Yas!

Gonna confuse the shit out of people again. I love it.

ace is the most fried company lol, but I'm hyped they finally did a size in between the 44s and the 55s, it was just too big of a jump imo if you thought the 44s were too small.

I wonder how many people are dashing out now to get any remaining stock of the old 9" or the 9.35" sized trucks.

The 9" no big deal as the new ones are that, but the 9.35" size...  oh my.

For people who don't like change, this could be the end of an era, or a whole new beginning, if they do change up their sizes.

Hard to say. maybe its somethings that's happening eventually but they took that new size chart down and replaced it with a chart reflecting the sizes we are familiar with. I'm carrying on with life as normal for now.

I can’t imagine they would go through all the trouble of new molds for Classics at this point in the life cycle of the truck - seems like the focus is almost entirely AF1 these days and Classics just continue to exist as a “legacy” model.

But hey crazier things have happened.

Anyone know if there are drops for the Chop Shop? Or do they stock randomly. On the hunt for some 60 hangars.

https://mesaskatesupply.com/collections/jts-chop-shop

I feel like the most common trucks have been out of stock for a while, but that might just be whenever I have checked in recent months.

No idea if they restock and sell out, or if the standard lines, most commonly the 60s and 66s look like they are always out of stock.

https://mesaskatesupply.com/collections/af1-trucks

Seems like those sets of trucks have been restocked though, all 60s in stock which probably doesn't help you much - get the trucks as a whole and sell the baseplates might be the best option there, or keep them as spares.

I know some people were keen on the low basplates too.

With Ace it is the same hanger throughout all their trucks, just the height difference in the baseplate, as people have said on here before.

Has anyone run 56mm conical full's fine on af1's without risers? I got some 1/8" risers on rn, and its going okay, but it's been weird adjusting and I'm ghost popping alot sometimes. Wondering if I would be okay without any risers. I could probably just tighten my trucks a little or wax where my wheels would bite, I'm like 140 pounds and 5'11" so Im thinking I probably could. If not I'll just adjust
