Just out of curiosity how do you verify for the “Thursday throwdown” discount? Also has anyone ever come in on Thursday got charged the full $7 price and thrown a fit because they felt like you weren’t putting the proper amount of respect on their name?

A fair question.  Maybe they use street league sabermetrics like any rational skateboarder would use.

can you be a ripper but not very serious? or a “more serious” skater but not a ripper? it would be funny if it was a mix of rippers goofing off and really serious skaters who sucked.

"more serious skaters" night is actually just a bunch of kids in helmets setting up stationary cameras all over the park and they freak the fuck out everytime they bail a trick.

The "throwing down" is serious kids throwing down their helmets in anger/tears. It's all right there. Perfectly clear.

Slimmed it down a bit and it’s a one piece upper. Fit the same and the comfort is the same. Would recommend

I’ve owned and skated both.  I found the original Busenitz need to be sized at least half size up from your normal size while the rx’s fit true to size.

The sole on the rx’s remind me of a really exaggerated boat show.  They are actually too grippy at first especially if you skate mob grip.  It’s a weird complaint, but the bottoms of the sole feel almost like they are velcro’ed on, which you might or might not like.

Rx’s are also mostly a cheap-feeling synthetic/vinyl material (shoe aficionados could probably correct me), with suede only around the toe and ollie area, which is really the only place you need it.

I’d say the original Busenitz are a little higher quality but the rx’es aren’t bad.  I like how the rx’s look a bit more than the originals, for what it’s worth.

I like how the rx’s look a bit more than the originals, for what it’s worth.

are you guys talking about busenitz pro and busenitz pro rx, or busenitz vulc and busenitz vulc rx.

Haha, I think I probably gave a detailed, long-winded description of the wrong shoe.  I assumed he meant the Vulc rx for whatever reason.

Sorry, should have specified, but I didn't know there was a vulc RX.  My feet don't do vulc anymore.  Currently in the Samba ADV's, and occasionally the first Suciu.  I'm not ready to gamble on that city cup, and the Suciu 2 still has that insole I'm not sold on.
I'm posting from my blackberry wtf?!?!?

busenitz pro i would say has more durability for the way i skate. my ollie/flick spot is right where there are two layers of suede plus lining. they both have the same outsole in terms of shape/feel/pattern, i do find the white and gum adidas sole to be the gripiest then the darker gum and black get slicker.

the rx having the spezial seamless toe means one less layer there. the tongue centering straps and lycra tongue made the rx fit better in the long run, but the cats tongue/grippy heel lining went flat eventually so i didnt find it super beneficial. i would do pro over rx.

Just a heads up, if you sign up for the Adidas mailing list you get a 15% off coupon. I tried stacking and I got a pair of Busenitz for $36 shipped.
