The tie dye can be scrubbed off. I prefer plain trucks too and got some of the Independent x Thrasher 139s, and wiped the Thrasher logo off easily with just a piece of scrap grip tape. But the baseplate is red. I haven't tried to remove the anodization, but I think that could be done as well.
The tie dye is pretty much anodized and the trucks are black coated as well so you have to either sand the entire thing off, or just deal with a big hippie grenade heart on your trucks. Trust me, I tried 91% isopro and some other solvents thinking it was just going to be a sticker but its chemically bonded or something. You could in theory take a wire brush and drill to them and have some insanely "raw" looking trucks but I've done that with other stuff in the past and it just ends up looking like shit, especially once it starts to get dirty, and I'm sure as shit not progressively sanding that shit for hours to make it look even tangentially related to acceptable. I bought 2 pairs because fuck it, $10 trucks that aren't some obscure size or brand. If nothing else I'll end up donating them to someone who needs them somewhere along the way like I did with half the shit I got from the last haul.
If you're ok with supporting a mall brand you can still score $30 generator decks and $15 orbs wheels. They also have Ace 33/44 for $30 a pair but they're the dark green ones that look like shit on most decks. My general rule of thumb to not feel as shitty about it is to try to match every dollar I spend with one spent at my local or a core shop with a webstore, but that's mostly just me deluding myself.
