Anyone used ambushskateboarding.com? I have 15% off and I’m about to go and order everything my wallet will allow. Selection is meh but I’m eyeing some bones Swiss and more wheels with this discount

Ambush was my childhood local.
at one point they had a HUGE store, although half the shop was surf and snow, the amount of skate goods dwarfed most other skate shops. Rent kept going up so they went all digital. I ordered an Evisen board from them last year.

I've had good luck with the footprint hi profile kingfoam flat insoles (7mm). All their others including the ones you bake, I've hated, but the flat ones I've liked. My biggest problem has been what they call customer service.

I asked a question or responded to someone on social media prior to getting the flat insoles about my bad luck with the "nicer" insoles being rock hard and never softening up, and their social guy's solution was to basically tell me I suck and must not be using them right, not that I could have a defective product. It's a great way to win over customers (and yet my dumbass did buy another pair of insoles from them after that).

I had the same problem with the Game Changers being rock hard on cold mornings, taking a good minute to warm up and get cushiony again. Never had the issue with the Kingfoam Orthotics.

IRRC I believe Joey is also the one handling all of their social media. That response definitely sounds like something he would say.

Is it a one time only discount code? I’ve been eyeing a couple boards from there

What happened to the sale tread? This sucks now
[close]

Yeah, I get bummed not seeing random awesome deals on the rags, but I think it may be due to seasonal stuff. Like we're in a new season now and they sold off a lot of last season before the new year... here's to hoping!

I feel like there used to be a lot more back and forth competing sales from the major e-retailers. Seems like competition is dwindling.

Good finds. Would’ve jumped but just picked up 169s 2 months ago. So random when Z adds to their sale selection. Think there was one black thunder 151 for $4.99 too.

The Tensor 5.25 and Krux Rainbow ones were going at $4.99 and enjoi bearings at $2.99, probably a pricing error.

Good looking out, got me a pair of Venture 5.8 Bobby Worrest trucks for $30
Venture Truck Height:

5.0 & 5.2 LO
STANDARD - 1.88” - 47.75mm
FORGED - 1.85”- 46.99mm

5.0 ,5.2, 5.6, 5.8 & 6.1 HI

Naw, it's not an error. For Zumiez, like any large store, prices old stock to clear it out. Even though 5-year-old trucks are just as good as trucks fresh off boat. If Venture isn't making the Worrest truck this year, and the SKU is removed. This tells Zumiez, This is an old product, that will lose relevance soon, get it out of here. Rather or not it's actually true doesn't matter.

Like if you go to best buy and see some "limited edition" beats headphones on clearance that you could sell online on at a markup. Best buy doesn't care. All they know is old stock, discontinued product, get it the fuck out of here, because that's what the system says.

Yep. But I don't get what their thinking is with wheels. Scorchers are how old?

Ain't complaining, $30 for Ventures is 1/2 what I pay for here locally. At $5 I would get some Krux just to fuck around it.

They're pretty much the same thing as classics, I think it's the same formula or if not its really close. Actually the only thing that seemed different from regular classics was the graphics and they smelled kinda funky when I first took them out of the package. I never skate them because the ones I have are 51mm but they're definitely decent urethane.

I remember scorchers. Haven't seen them in a catalog for 5 years? They're older than the Lacey's and those are 2-3yo?

Oh, I didn't think about that. A cheaper formula just for them? That's like how Walmart does business.
Do they have a different feel than Classics?

Nah they feel the same to me, I'm pretty sure it's the same formula and the shape is the same. I don't think DLX would cheap out on the urethane,. Even their price point stuff is usually good quality, like their pp decks are still generator wood. The only reason I don't really skate my scorcher is the size/shape, if they sold them in a radial, conical, or tablet shape I'd probably buy a bunch of them.

The real find there is $20 forged hollow 144. I bought some Reynolds hollow 144s recently as well. Big Z sale truck page has definitely been interesting again recently, worth checking in the AM.
