I’d go with whichever is more snug. After they break in and pack out the larger ones will most likely get floppy.

For what it’s worth I’m not into hi tops and complain about vans more often than I should and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Crockett hi. Which is saying something ha.  I really like them way more than I thought. So I hope you are as happy with them as I am!
