Yeah younger bands covering weekend nachos would definitely throw me off. The 10 year rule should be expanded into a 20 year rule

Going to see Drain and Mindforce tonight. Should be pretty sick.

Edit.

It was pretty fun. MSPaint was better live than I expected. I got kicked in the face by a stage diver during Mindforce, giving me a bloody nose. Apparently if you're bleeding from the face you're automatically cut off at the bar.

Appreciate you putting your zines up in here Streetmeat. Always enjoy it and it's pretty much the only thing keeping me somewhat up to date with USHC. Thanks for the dominos tip too.

I was lucky enough to see Drain open for Comeback Kid a few months back - definitely a treat and showed up CK. Hope your war wound is ok!

It's not the first time I've been kicked in the face, probably won't be the last. I've been going to hardcore shows for over 25 years. Not much of a stagediver anymore,  now im mostly the old dude that picks up the young guns to crowd surf, or if some spry teenager is being a dick in the pit, I'll go show them what a tough guy show in the 90s felt like to cool them off a bit.

Went to Tied Down fest over the weekend. Surprisingly had a good time. I haven't been to another fest other than Midwest Blood/LDB since MWB/LDB started so i was kinda dreading it tbh. I'm not sure I need another 2000+ persons hardcore fest in life so unless there's multiple differing bands playing that would drag me there again, i doubt i would go back. Had the most fun during the Warfare set, who arguable had the 'worst' set and lowest reaction.

Just met Wesley eisold at LAX. Shook his hand and told him his music had a profound effect on my life. American nightmare are my favourite HC band of all time. I was so nervous, my first time meeting a 'famous' person that I care about and I was like stuttering and shit lmao. Much more nerve wracking than meeting some skater and just being like yo whatsup but he was super cool.

just saw there's a candy/spy show at the end of the month. pretty psyched that i can attend. a week before that is speed with zulu as support. would like to go, but unfortunately i probably won't get a day off work that day. i also might try to catch end it next month. it's pretty far away, but maybe it will line up with coming back from another trip so i can just attend the show and then sleep it off on the 7 hour train home lol.

I caught the chisel for the 2nd time recently. they don’t take themselves too seriously so its just a good ole time

Looking forward to their next release. As per the singer it sounds like it could be a bit because he said they had an LP ready to go then scrapped it and are currently re-recording it or something

I have a ticket to the indecision records mini fest(friends are calling it oldhead fest lmao) they are throwing in July which unfortunately falls on the same weekend as sound and fury, weird timing.  Not sure if I will make it to both but looking forward to seeing suicide file and unbroken

truly wild to me they are running both those fests simultaneously, but i guess S&F is really for the youth and people under 30 dont give a flying fuck about the bands playing the Indecision one

@streetmeat yeah, super trippy. Wonder if there is beef or just lack of communication. Haha yep, I am actually 30 so just on the cusp of full fledged old head and can agree with that. growing up going to shows in Southern California unbroken was held in high regard(lots of ppl wearing merch etc) so I listened to em a lot

Most of the songs I thought were really good but they sounded insane live.

as someone under 30, i would cut off my left ball to see unbroken

hope you have a blast Huell, looks to be a dope ass lineup. that isn't to discount the S&F lineup tho, shameless Twitching Tongues fan here

yeah I’ve missed unbroken reunions a few times in the past so looking forward to it. I got a lil fomo after seeing the pics from last years S&F so interested in going this year. Seems like it’s grown so much which is awesome

While on a trip to NY I caught a suicide file reunion show last Friday in Brooklyn. such a fun show, excellent vibes. My voice is still fuq’d up from all the sing alongs. So many lyrics that I knew subconsciously haha

Saw END and Terror last night. Never heard of END before they were great. It was a Monday night and just after Hellfest but still a decent turn out. Saw Terror in November and was way more hectic but they still were amazing.
Going to see Sick Of It All in a few weeks well looking forward to them also, think last time I saw them was 2016 for their 30th anniversary tour. Crazy how time flys.
