I’ve ridden a Dane 1 with 159 indies and 151 thunders with pretty wide wheels (slime balls 56) and it worked great. Any narrower would look/feel.  a bit weird I think

rear tapers to like 8.8” or so. 8.75” and 9” trucks work

I saw this the other day and I've been thinking about it a lot. Not mine, but I have a Scram deck coming the mail from that SoCal sale awhile back.

Hah! Opposite for me, saw that and instantly wanted to forget about it. Maybe I don’t understand the point of that shape

Switched some things up. Mid-winter so softer wheels for the sand and salt everywhere. Ventures got the pop back on this board.

Polar bengt alv probability studies
9” x 14.5” x 32.5”
Venture 6.1
54mm oj Keyframe 87a

Ok

Sick. In this configuration it reminds me of a mid-90s AWS.

Cracked my standard pop so I regripped this board and set it back up.

AH Cards 9.18
Independent 159, blue 92 barrel bushings
53mm F4 classics (now 49mm, just how I like them)
Bones rail, Lucky risers, Indy hardware, Reds, Mob

This is the flattest board I've ever skated, and even with Indys and risers it feels mellow. The rail is kind of cool for boardslides but I never really do them so I regret putting it on. That being said, I always feel at home on a big egg/football with 159s and small wheels.

@FrozenIndustries sick as well! Bigger Football/egg is my next deck for sure. And I’ve been itching for a classic shape wheel now after conical fulls keyframe and NFG vee. So I’ll take your advice with smaller classics for that shape. Just proper. Kind of liking no risers atm. Also having a hard time finding 92-94a bushings

Me too, waiting patiently. I would also be cool with the Crail version coming back. I posted a little ago but Sausage does the same shape on clutch and its pretty nice.

been riding the 9x33 AH eagle board for a few years. best shape, and usually comes with a pink top stain. which has become important to me over the years for some reason. id rather not go skate than skate another board with a fucking yellow top holy shit. and i fuck with the overhang for getting extra squirrely in the city, i run 144s on that hog.

That is wild. I was running 149s on an older Cards football I had, but even that tapers to like 8.75" over the trucks. That being said I've skated 44s on 9" and 9.25" shapes before and it felt great, so

I want that winky/gonz hybrid! It’s crazy how many diy board brands keep popping up, I would love to see what kind of press/mold setup some of them are using.

That barnyard shape looks really sick. 8.75 width. It's the deck on the most right. Apparently they are all sold now.

I had a look back through his instagram and although I didn't see presses, there are some amazing things in there.

forgot to post it here too

forgot my last setup on the train like a moron after smoking and drinking with friends right after i got everything dialed :( spent the week getting everything replaced. gotta figure out some balance with weed after losing tolerance

dane 1 9.75/31.375/14.125wb (thanks @jay_nev)
venture 6.1 w/forged plates+flat washers+indy super softs
f4 conical full 52mm 101a
swiss super 6
bronze allen
mob
adidas tyshawns

first time switching plates has been worth it for me with ventures. pop was feeling mellow yet heavy with the cast which i didnt love. forged is giving me the perfect height, weight, and counterbalance for pop. feels like a more stable thunder which is perfect in my eyes.

also a first for owning 101a f4s and they definitely perform the best on smooth ground. got pitched into the street the second i hit crust so ill probably switch to 99a og classics if the trend continues. hating the shields on my swiss now that my wheels are the loudest part of my setup. they gotta go after their first clean.
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Is it the pic / camera making it look egg shaped or is it just me?

As you said though, but how tapered is it?

It’s a little iPhone distorted but def tapered. 9” in the middle, about 8.75 over front and back trucks.

Picked up these bad boys today for my cruiser. Works a treat, noticeably improved stability and speed, very happy with the results.

How often do you all switch between bigger boards and smaller, more “normal” popsicles? Last two weeks has been all my 9.5” gonz krooked and standing on my 8.5 popsicle today the thing felt like a toothpick

Before snow flew I went back and forth between Loveseats and 8.3 popsicles. No rhyme or reason, just whatever one looked Sexier to me as I was heading out the door to skate.

Switched some things up. Mid-winter so softer wheels for the sand and salt everywhere. Ventures got the pop back on this board.

Polar bengt alv probability studies
9” x 14.5” x 32.5”
Venture 6.1
54mm oj Keyframe 87a

How’s the wheelbite with the 8.75 Ventures and the 54 mm keyframes? I have a pretty similar setup and had bought 54 mm keyframes to throw on there to switch it up but I ride my Ventures decently loose and picture it being a disaster with the soft wheels.

it’s not bad. You can see multiple marks on the pic, I’ve tried a few things. I put 97a supercush bushings in em now and using 54mm v cut NFG which are actually a bit wider than the Keyframes. I have used ace 55 on this board with 55mm og classics as well and it was never crazy bad/noticeable. I’m 200 lbs for reference, skating mostly flat and curbs but with harder bushings it’s not loose, especially in winter.

Have seen thunder 151 posted with 55mm og classics a few pages back and wonder how that’d be
