Rubber griptape.

The most obvious advancement in griptape technology (that is so fucking simple I struggle to name it a 'technology').

all rubber griptape companies seem to just die or disappear
everyone I've heard try it says it's really good
results in shoes not dying
which results in skate shoes not selling
which results in skate shoe companies dying
and also results in skate shops dying
no distributor will touch it because of the above

I'm assuming the assumption, if this was to be the case, would be that it was all a ploy by Big Laces to or Nike to sell more laces and own more of the world's money.

Rowley has almost no grinds in his newest part. The reason is that he only skate indy stage VII and they are pretty hard to come by these days. Conclusion: Conservation of these valuable assets is more important than a well rounded trick selection.

I've actually experimented with sponge rubber myself to substitute griptape like a decade ago. Was pretty decent, but I like destroying my stuff, if that makes any sense...

I have a theory that involves the skateboard industry. Directly and indirectly manipulating the idea of skateboarding in peoples minds to keep them involved in the idea of the skateboard industry and culture. Through means of media perpetuating images and personality's that expand on skateboarding figures. In the same way the entertainment industry creates TV and movie personality's to sell ideas and images of life. I think that is whats killing individualism in skateboarding. I think they know this and do it to sell products obviously. But it was not always a for front of thought I think it started off more innocent back in the day but all the young guys pushing it got old and saw what was really going on. I.E. the all seeing eye. They taunt us too which is fucked up.

The big four truck companies came to an agreement, conspiring to put Bones out of business by all agreeing to make their stock bushings higher quality so people stop buying bones bushings.

Think about skating any Venture, Thunder, Indy, or Ace you’ve skated stock 12 years ago vs stock bushings in any of the above now. Clearly noticeable difference.

Also think about how Bones just put out “white” wheels to copy that yellow formula four color because nobody is buying their shitty wheels.

I’m convinced that Powell doesn’t actually know how to make a skateboard deck, and the wheels are plasticy and rattle when you skate, but the bearings are good. I say this as an established Bones/Powell hater
