I don't think they've totally killed it, but it's definitely harder to find now. I mean up here in Canada, select shops still have it on their websites (Ninetimes, etc.) and there's fringe or whatever retailers like Boathouse that sell them.

Vans has this division called Vault where they're putting out different Half-Cab colourways (nothing too appealing so far in my opinion), and I think they're the normal versions.

I just got a fresh pair of the normal dark navy jawns and they're still honestly better than any other iteration, and almost any other shoe for that matter.

I'm guessing they're just putting the normal Half-Cab on the backburner for now in order to promote their new product. If they do indeed kill it though, I'm pretty much over Vans. That shoe's not only great to skate in, but a cultural icon.

I almost was over Vans and vulcs for skating in general but they got me with that 92 reynolds half cab. I couldn´t resist and ordered them last night, they just look so good.

I think they made weird basketball shoes and breakdancing shoes in the early 80's when skateboarding was dead, to stay afloat financially. Called the Serio line. These look like they came straight from that line BITD, except I'm pretty sure these are that all-foam cupsole sidewall construction from that low top shoe with the V side logo that would be hard to skate. These gotta just be a fashion thing.
