Got this New Deal Templeton Reissue - Resin 7
10.125 x 31.9
Wheelbase 14.5
Indy 169s with a cracked pivot cup
Spitfire 56mm 97a Classics
Welcome / Professor Schmitt 'Candy Bar' Rails

Been after the Candy Bars for years, stoked to get a few sets.    Couldnt decide what colour to put on, so went classic.  Man, these things slide...  It's like they're full of wax.  Amazing. They're basically Schmitt Stix Type II Rails, which were my favorite back in the day.

The board feels amazing, super crisp and the shape rules.  Really similar to my Tired board I retired.  I always wanted a New Deal back in the day, but they were too hard to get in suburban Australia.

1- this is a phenomenal grip job

2- did Polar put out a 9" pop w/o wheel wells in this drop?

How do you like the 169s on a board over 10 in? I’ve been trying to figure out what size trucks to get for a 9.5-10.5 in board

I just ordered the new Ace AF1 77, which is 9.5” for a 10” board (at the widest point). Indy 169’s are a bit small at 9.125”. Indy 215’s are 10” but it might be too big and look like a Hot Rod if the shape tapers a bit.

The 77s are sweet. I got them for a 9.75" Scram, but busted them out early and put them on my 9.18" Cardiel.

The 9.5" feels nice and versatile, and with the faced hangers I am running them with no washers inside. For a wider board, you could put the washers inside (Ace washers are an even 1mm thick) to push things out.

Went on a little shopping spree this weekend and this 9.75" Scram is one of the things I picked up:

Looks pretty wild.

Always glad to see more Scram decks. You should really set it up. You won’t regret it.

Will be my next whip for sure. It will be the biggest board I've ever skated.

Ditto. @Sonny Paluso not going to lie I bookmarked the first pic you posted of the modded 215s and when I picked up my AF1 77s they were the partial inspiration.

Pretty much a perfect setup. They got one of those Grossos in at Zembo the other day and it sold pretty much immediately. Hoping they become slightly less scarce so I can get one.

I actually got lucky and found it via google search at insanity board shop. They had three at the time and really wanted to give the shape a shot.

@shpongle a lot of reviews and discussed many times, check formula four thread. They’re great. Highly recommended for outdoors and crust, even some have said for dusty parks.

@Esmith5488 that’s a great rig. No risers? Curious to see what you think of the set up

@shpongle ive only rolled around for a few mins but can feel they are softer but I didn’t feel like they would hold me back for anything

@jay_nev I was on the fence about risers but 56 already makes it higher than I like, these trucks have a deep turn and I’ve already gotten plenty of wheel bite but I suspect it will settle out once the trucks get broken in and are a little tighter

Ace 55 classics with the red baseplate
Spitfire f4 tablets 52mm 99a
Bones big balls
Royal 7/8th Allen
Jessup

Well I have like 9 Andy Anderson dated flight decks.

Posted this on the cruiser thread but I guess it also belongs here:
Just got my first cruiser today as a Bday gift from my girlfriend (well, she paid, I chose everything  ;D )

Frog Pat G (9.875)
Ace AF1 77 stock
OJ Plain Janes 87a 58mm.
Bones Reds
Santa Cruz Slimeline Rails
Diamond 1/8 Raisers
Bronze 56k Allen bolts 1inch.
Jesus Grip + Random Clear Grip

So stoked on how it came out. Went to the park and had a fun test drive already. So different from my usual 8.25 deck, feels like skating a tank!

@PhantomBased the 77’s feel amazing. I tried to go stock tightness but I’m on big soft wheels with thin risers so it was wheelbite time, but actually after half a turn on each truck they felt great! Bushing are pretty mush broken in from the get go. Real surfy feeling, great carving... I was trying to slappy feeble this crusty slappy block and it was giving me a hard time but I think it was more lack of wax then the trucks themselves. 50-50’ing the long ledge at the park with metal copping felt really good and smooth.
First impressions is that those are quality trucks!

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

Thanks man, they don't stick out much, just a bit on the back truck cause the deck shape tapers down, but on the front you dont really see the wheels. Tbh I think its the perfect balance for that 9.5 to 10inch deck range. My friend only rides SC Winkowski's decks with 169 indy's and you get a bit of that carpet feeling which you don't have on this.

I had both my boards with me, 30 mins after skating the Big Boy my normal set-up (8.25) looked and felt like a 7.5  ;D ;D
I can see the appeal of skating the big boards, but I'm not that big of dude (5'10) and I still like to flip my board and do some ledge skating... Once I get to 30 maybe I'll consider to sizing up ahah

that's how it starts. one nice setup and you'll end up skating it more and more and the little twig starts feeling sketchy. so for consistency you'll take out that big old slapper and faster than you can imagine you have grown a goatie and huck boneless ones on every bank...

Yep same thing happened to I still keep a 8.25 around but she never sees the light of day much. The only thing I feel like I'm missing out on is olling over tall stuff.

Indeed, nice DUNGEON sticker ;)
The '80s were the worst period. You had these horrible pop bands growing their hair and calling themselves metal.
