that's how it starts. one nice setup and you'll end up skating it more and more and the little twig starts feeling sketchy. so for consistency you'll take out that big old slapper and faster than you can imagine you have grown a goatie and huck boneless ones on every bank...

Yep same thing happened to I still keep a 8.25 around but she never sees the light of day much. The only thing I feel like I'm missing out on is olling over tall stuff.

That’s one sexy setup @Sk.A.T.A.N
Looks like a tonne of fun!

Indeed, nice DUNGEON sticker ;)

That is sick! My set up is almost identical except I have 56mm 97 full conical wheels. 9" pops are a lot of fun

My first board over 8,5" also first post here, went all in with the old school pool style as my main board.
From online pictures and measurements saw that this deck was almost identical to the first Winkowski pro model and made in the same woodshop, so as fan I bought it, since they don't sell any of the fancy santa cruz boards where I live. + the sticker aspect got my respect.

Evisen Shor West sticky face 10,34"
Classic ace 55 (9,0")
Indy 1/8" risers
Spitfire conical full 99a 54mm
1" Diamond bolts
Some random bearings
Film Rails
Mob black and clear griptape
Evisen stickers that came with the board

Hopefully the pictures work, this is kinda my first forum post ever. Also thanks to everyone here for opening my eyes to wheelbase, kick steepnes, woodshops and different truck deck combos (ace, polar for example) I'd be lost without y'all. ❤

Happy to have you here dude. Coming out the gate strong as a first post.

The combo of 55s and conical fills is just absolutely fucking perfect.

Ah damn! That’s the board I wanted for my cruiser but couldn’t find anywhere... It’s fuckin’ beautiful. The sticker idea is so sick too. Evisen seriously killed it with those new decks. Great set-up dude!

Birthday Complete

Polar Dane1 (9.75 x 31.375 w/ 14.125 wheelbase)
Ace Trucks Classic 55
Spitfire John Cardiel F4 Deep Cuts Tablet Wheels 55MM
Jessup
Bones Reds
Random hardware

first thoughts... I love this board. super fun, my first time with Aces and I really enjoy them. However my back truck fell off and I need to go to the shop to get a new kingpin nut. that sucks. besides that, love love love this board.

yeah, with a 9" grip sheet and not covering the width, i'd rather to strips sideways.

and what happened to your ace falling off? was too loose?

So tastefully done.

@FrozenIndustries to answer your question/explain why I do something similar: when I skate my Dane1 I always keep my front foot just below where he had cut the grip, and I do similar shit with my grip because my everyday driver has a 14.5 wheelbase and it makes switching between the two a little bit easier for my dumbass.

Basically when I’m setting my feet up, I can feel where I am on the deck and I don’t need to look down constantly.

I made the mistake of not doing it on the first dane1 I had and regretted it immensely.

sadly... too loose

I ran my aces finger tight until I had the same issue a while ago, rethread and some loctite got me right again though.

My buddy said at a certain point for loose enough trucks just cause diminishing returns and becomes a liability, which I don’t necessarily disagree with. BUT I’m just gonna keep riding my shit jiggly loose because it’s a solid flex when someone who is objectively way better skates on your deck and says some shit like, “ah man how do you skate this?” And you get the incredible cop out of bit landing tricks and blaming it on the trucks. “Ah dude I would have had if my trucks were tighter, but I just can’t do it.”

Yeah, my foot would be in that spot 79% of the time. I’ve actually considered something similar to keep my foot back.

Width of front and rear truck is crucial for shaped boards. Sometimes you can find that info in Tactics "comment" section.

Too bad they don't ship hard goods. Guess the deck shortage is getting real.

In that case, yes, it is very good and super helpful.

So good and helpful I wish I could support them and buy some decks...

Bit of a bummer because I just got paid and was hoping to spend some money before my wife notices and makes me spend it on boring shit like bills and groceries.
